~(Goggles POV)~
I waved goodbye to my team and started running towards my home. I actually live in an apartment, and it's not very far away, but I want to look up what my dreams mean. I also want to watch the rest of the battles from today's cup. After our battle, my teammates and I spent a while practicing.
I'm not looking where I'm going at all when I unexpectedly crashed into someone. They grunt in surprise as we both fell to the ground. "Owww...." I rub my nose. "Sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." I look down at the inkling who I am now sitting on, my smile fading when I see the broken, dismembered body of Rider. The image fades, however, and I see instead, an angry face glaring up at me. I grin, pretending I hadn't seen him dead for over a month now, and say, "Oh, hi Rider."
Rider turns his head away from me and props himself up with his arms. "Get off." He demands. I smile cheekily, tapping my chin with a finger. "Hmmmm... how about...no. Hehehe!" Rider is probably starting to get embarrassed because a yellow-green started creeping up his face. I never realized quite how strong he was until now, when he's able to just get up anyways with me on him. It's probably because he lugs that huge roller with him everywhere. But I guess he hadn't brought it out here with him, because it's nowhere to be seen.
I turn into my squid form before I hit the ground, pouting, trying to look disappointed. Actually, I didn't have to try very hard, because I am disappointed. "Aww man..." I mutter. Embarrassed Rider is a memory I must cherish. He's still blushing faintly. I transform back into my inkling form, my grin returning once more. "Sorry for running into you, Rider, but I gotta wonder... What were you doing, just walking around here?"
Rider's blush deepens. "None of your business." He muttered. He doesn't meet my gaze, and started to try walking away. I'm not going to let him, however. I'm too curious. Does he normally just go on walks? That sounds boring. "Teeeeeeellllllllllll meeeeeee!!" I pester, getting in his way.
"I just wanted to go for a walk." He said through gritted teeth. Am I bothering him that much? "W-what about you? Why are you running around carelessly and tacking people?" Rider tried to sound sarcastic, but he stuttered for some reason. "Oh, I was just going home. I was rushing because I wanted to-" I suddenly realized I was about to tell Rider my secret. He would probably be freaked out if he knew I was having nightmares about him before I even met him.
"Uh- check...something..." I break eye contact, looking at the ground. Rider's interest must of peaked, I must of made him curious. Great... How am I going to explain this?
"Oh? What were ya gonna check?" He sounded genuinely interested. Why does he care so much? I begin to feel uncomfortable. "I-I was going to..." I trailed off. What do I tell him? I feel my face start to get hot. Rider suddenly started smirking and leaned closer to me. "Going to? Going to do what?"
"Uh- Um..." I can feel my face flush when I realized how close he was to me. "I-I was..." I trail off again. I can't think of a lie, should I just tell the truth? "H-have you ever had a dream where s-somebody you knew d-died?" I suddenly blurt out. Maybe Rider has the answers to my question?
"Uhh...No? Why do you ask? Tryna change the subject?" Rider's expression showed visible confusion. I'm flustered. I've never been flustered before, but I am now. "W-well... I've been having...Um..." I blush harder when Rider leans closer to me. Our noses are almost touching. My hearts are beating faster, my breathing gets quicker. What's wrong with me? His eyes are locked to mine. "I-I'm having..."
"Having..." This is so hard! His face is so close to mine, how am I supposed to concentrate?! This was hard enough to say before, why does Rider have to make this so difficult?! I can't take this anymore. He's pressuring me too much. He's too close to me. The image of his ripped face starts flashing before my eyes. "I-I have to go!" I blurt out, turning the other direction and running towards my apartment, away from Rider, away from my hallucinations, away from that awkward situation.
