Prologue

*4 years ago*
A mysterious sound had awoken Adelaide from her deep slumber. Grabbing a flashlight, she managed her way to the bedroom door. She unlocked the door and creaked it open, just enough so that she could glance out into the hallway. Her eyes adjusted to the dark while she peeked out. Deciding nobody was in the hall, she slipped out of her room, shutting the door behind her.
She snuck towards her parents door, edging open the wooden door. Shining the flashlight around the room, she saw the room was completely disheveled. Papers were scattered among the floor, her fathers desk knocked over, the closet ransacked, and blood stained the carpet and walls. Adelaide mustered up enough courage to look onto the bed. The sight before her made goosebumps crawl up her skin as she let out a bloodcurdling scream. Her parents lay on the bed with their throats slit.
Near her mother, there was something shiny. Adelaide inched closer, only to see the royal seal resting between her mother and fathers heads. Filled with fury, Adelaide swore to herself that she would not rest until she'd caught her parents murderer.
*3 months later*
Soon after Adelaide had discovered her parents bodies, she'd packed up her belongings and made her way into town. A tall, lanky but built man stepped in front of her. Introducing himself as Archer, leader of the Assassins Assembly. He'd offered to help train her. Adelaide immediately accepted and was handed a card with an address. Archer told her to meet him there in two days. That was how it all began...
