SEVENTEEN
Grant
- 9:10 am -
I make it to Natalia's side and get her behind me. When Atticus pulls at his hair it means he is about to break down. I know how he gets, but I can't trust him like this. There is no telling what he'll do.
"What did I come here for?!" Atticus questions himself. "Ugh!" He shouts. It scares Natalia as she holds my arm. "You- you." He shoves me aside, hitting my ribs. I stumble to the ground and watch him drag her down the hallway. The door is slammed in my face.
I don't know what could happen right now with her. She could be let out, locked into another room, or killed.
I need to come up with a plan to get us out, for good. We will be away from all of this, and she will be safe. I know my way around this place. Maybe Thatcher will send some people to retrieve his daughter. But those chances are low, very low. But it may be the only thing we have: Hope, chance.
- 2:23 pm -
I have stood in the same spot where I watched Natalia get dragged down the hall. No movement whatsoever. I've gone through a million different plans in my head trying to find at least one to get out of here.
I could take her down the fourth hallway and away from the twelve o-clock crew- no I already thought of that one. I need to think smarter. Atticus is clever so I need to think somewhat like him to get out of here. I could trick him into thinking he put me here on accident. They may work depending on which state he is in. I'd hope he is in some sort of crazy or off state would be ideal for a plan like that to work.
- 9:09 pm -
I moved to the center of the room with my hands behind my back, waiting for Atticus to come back. He should be here soon-
The door opens. Atticus's crazy eyes find mine. "Boss, you are back." I say.
"Back? Explain." He orders confused.
"You told me to wait in here and that you'd come back when we were ready to move Natalia Brewer." I tell him.
"Oh, yes, Ready to move Natalia. To where?" He asks himself more than asking me.
"Back to the woods." I answer.
"Right- woods."
He leads me out of the room and down a couple halls. He keeps looking back and me all confused. He might be coming back to his senses soon. I might not have much more time. We need to move quicker. I notice we begin to go in circles. The jig is up. Atticus turns to look at me. "Grant." He sneers ready to lunge at me.
I block as much as I can trying to not take as any hits, and also trying to deliver some hits. Atticus starts to get really angry, but also scared. I am winning because I am quick and my mind isn't going back and forth. I hit him strong in the temple and he is out. Once he is on the floor I grab the gun on his hip, and the one on his calf.
I move Atticus into one of the cells and lock the door. Next I begin through the halls looking in each cell for Natalia. After three halls I go down the last one. I check all of the rooms and come up empty handed. There is one more room that I pray to any God that she wouldn't be in.
As I make my way down the halls I come up one three men. I walk down calmly with one gun behind my back and the other next to it. I'd rather not use the guns because that will make some noise that may raise some suspicion.
I don't look at the men but they look at me. "Where has he been?" One of them asks the other.
"I don't know. Maybe a mission?" One suggests.
