"Wake up would you?"

I groaned and lifted the sheets over my face. I barely got any sleep, as I was up all night thinking about the ball.

"It's Christmas you idiot!"

I jolted up. I totally forgot.

"Bloody hell! Merry Christmas Ginny!"

"I've been saying that to you for the past 15 minutes."

We both laughed as I got up out of bed.

"Well come on, let's open our presents!"

Ginny and I grabbed our presents and headed down to the room of requirement to meet up with Luna and Neville. We always spent Christmas together, it was tradition.

"Merry Christmas Luna! Merry Christmas Neville!"

Neville, Luna, Ginny, and I all opened our presents together, ate snacks, and had the greatest time, just like we always do.

"Anyways, are you guys excited for tonight?" I blurted out.

"Oh very," Luna replied.

"Yeah. Hey Ginny, you never told us who you were going with," Neville mentioned.

I glanced at Ginny and I could tell she didn't want to get into it right now, so I tried changing the subject.

"You never told us who you were going with either, Neville."

"Oh, me and Luna are going as friends. I thought she already told you that though."

"Oh that's right, I knew that."

We all laughed, and I guess changing the subject worked because neither Luna or Neville said anything else about it.

"Well, we should probably be getting back to our dorms and start getting ready for the day," Ginny stated.

"Ginny's right. We've been in here for almost 3 hours," I responded.

"I'll see you tonight, Luna," Neville muttered as he awkwardly smiled at her.

As soon as me and Ginny got back to our dorms, I changed into my dress. It was an impulsive decision, but I didn't regret it.

"Jocie, the ball is in like 6 hours, what are you doing?"

"Just wanted to make sure it still fit."

That was a lie. I just wanted to admire myself again, as this was the first time I was going to the ball with a boy I actually liked. I was so unbelievably excited, words couldn't even describe what I was feeling.

Me and Ginny changed into our normal clothes, and then headed down to lunch. The food was undoubtedly the best, and it made my day 10x more bearable.

I saw Harry sitting with Hermione and Ron and decided to wave at him. I suppose I should have waited until he swallowed his drink, because when he tried smiling back at me, it all came out. He must've forgotten he had anything in his mouth. I tried to hide my laugh but couldn't. He looked back at me embarrassed but I gave him a smile attempting to make him feel better.

I then randomly felt a tap on my shoulder and turned my head around to see Cedric standing over me.

Cedric and I used to like each other, but our relationship ended when I found out he lied to me about something tremendously important. I promised myself I would never forgive him.

"Hey Jocie, can I talk to you for a minute?"

I looked deep into his eyes with a confused look on my face. He seemed upset, and that only made it more difficult to say no.

"Uh, I guess?" I replied.

We walked out of the dining hall and he turned to look at me. I couldn't help but notice that he gave off these vibes that felt so genuine.

"So, what did you want to say to me?"

I crossed my arms to let him know that I still haven't forgiven him, but I could tell he saw right threw me.

"How are you?"

"I- I'm fine? I guess."

"Listen, I just wanted to ask if you would be my date to the Yule Ball. Just so we can connect again."

"Connect again? After what you did?" I scoffed.

He started to open his mouth but I stopped him before he could say anything.

"No. I already have a date," I confirmed.

I walked away and left him standing there. I just hoped he wouldn't come after me.

After lunch me and Ginny went back to our dorms, but I didn't tell her what happened between me and Cedric. The ball was in 3 hours, so I was sure I was the least of her worries.

We put on our dresses and started to do our makeup. Ginny did her hair first, then she did mine. We both looked rather nice.

"Look at the time! We've got to go!" She exclaimed.

We rushed down to the dining hall and we almost collided at the top of the stairs.

"Oh! Sorry Jocie! I'm going to go look for Draco, I'll find you later, okay?"

"Okay, have fun!"

I was standing at the top of the stairs alone, and as I looked down, I saw a couple of people. One of them being Harry.
