Chapter 17 - The Second Task

It's been a few weeks and the second task is tomorrow.

I am so nervous.

We got up as normal to go to classes. Dumbledore offered for the competitors to take today off classes since the next task is tomorrow but I'd rather keep my mind off of it.

At breakfast Dumbledore said
"Everyone I have an announcement."

Everyone kept talking.

"Quiet!"  He shouted and everyone went silent.

"Thank you, as you all know Christmas is coming soon"

I forgot all about Christmas

"So we will be having our annual Yule Ball in 2 weeks time."

There were excited squeals from some of the girls and groans from some of the boys. There were also some students exchanging looks to each other, like silently asking to go.

"You will only have a few classes, then your head teacher from your house will give you all of the details and start your dancing lessons"

The boys groaned.

"And yes, if you are planning on not attending the Yule Ball you still have to go to the dance lessons."

"Okay, as you all know the Yule Ball is coming up." Said McGonagall.

She kept going on about how there a swan in every woman and stuff.

I saw Ronald whisper something to Seamus.

"Mr Weasley!" McGonagall started "would you like to join me?"

This is going to be hilarious.

Ron got up and walked over to her, he was not happy.

The twins started whistling and cheering.

She showed us how to dance and told everyone to get up and get a partner.

We all hesitantly stood up and got a partner.

Before I could walk over to someone McGonagall and Ron came dancing over to me.

"Ms Potter."

"Yes professor" I said

"Would you mind taking over for me and dance with Mr Weasley?"

"Of course Professor" I said politely

She walked off and me and Ron mirrored the position him and McGonagall were previously in.

"Thank Merlin" he whispered "that was so embarrassing."

"Taught you right" I laughed. "And besides, you looked cute." I said

"So you think I'm cute?" He teased

"Hey! I did not say that!" I said back in defence.

"You so did" he smirked

"Whatever" I said playfully rolling my eyes.

We all danced for a while until McGonagall dismissed us for bed.

Once we got in the common room we all decided to go to sleep.
