I watched the world below from Tartarus and boy oh boy was I loving it. When you looked at the sky a grey dark star shape above the center of The Temple of Peace where The Book of Peace once sat, ate away at the crystal clear blue skies and grew, turning the skies a dark grey color. My mother was very pleased at my work so far. I watched a court gathering listen to the one guard that I left alive.
“I swear, Eris had a son, he stole the book! It was awful, I watched him eat the other guards.” He said, personally I wouldn’t call it ‘eating’ I really do devour them.
“How do you know that it was the son of Eris?” One of the court members asked she was an old woman with grey hair.
“He said ‘I am Nova Rixa Kallisti, the son of Eris the goddess of Chaos!’”
“Ah I see, he left you alive to tell us of his existence, and if my Latin is correct his name means ‘New Strife’. But what do you mean ‘eat’ the other guards?” A court member said he was a younger man with brown eyes and blonde hair.
“He ate them, he tore them limb from limb and ate there flesh, it was terrible.” The guard said.
“So you expect us to believe that the son of the goddess of chaos got in past every other guard in the temple, ate six full grown men knocked one out and left with The Book of Peace and no one saw?” Another member said coldly, she was a younger woman with blonde hair and green eyes.
“Who else could it have been Heleta; there were bones left of the guards and no flesh remains what so ever, and the gods are said to have powers like invisibility and transportation. Although six men seem like a bit many, how old did the boy look?” The same court member from before with the brown eyes and blonde hair asked the guard.
“He was young, at least nine.” He said and as he did I transported to their court meeting.
“I really shouldn’t have eaten so much.” I said in my innocent eight year old voice, as everyone looked at me.
“You, did you steal The Book of Peace? Are you really the-”
“The son of the goddess of chaos, yes I am and I did steal The Book of Peace.” I said, looking bored.
“Guards, capture the boy!”
Guards ran towards me and I jumped and did a back flip right over their heads and stuck a perfect landing. I looked up through the large glass ceiling windows at the grey star that continued to consume the blue skies.
“Oh and about your question regarding me ‘eating’ people, it’s true, I devour all the flesh and blood and leave the bones as a sign that I was there.” I said while still ducking guards.
“Guards, stop, the boy doesn’t seem to want a fight.” One of the court members said.
“You’re correct sir; I don’t want any unfair fights.” I said, the guards got these cocky smiles on their faces.
“Especially when three weak men, fight a young god who devours people.” I said and there smirks were wiped clean off.
“Why you little-” One of the guards said, running his sword through my stomach. I coughed up a little blood and pulled his sword out of my stomach and devoured him in a few seconds.
“For such a young boy to eat entire men in such short time…”
“Well I had to heal the wound he caused somehow, did I not? I only came to tell you that I’m not giving the book back; I’m going to watch you struggle for your pathetic life. Once that grey star completely consumes the sky for as far as you can see in the horizon, chaos and discord will rain like no other in the history of man.” I said. “Good bye.” And then I transported back home to Tartarus and told mother of the good news, she seemed frightened.
“Nova Rixa, you can’t go around Earth anymore, you must stay here from now on, at least until all the damage is done.”
“Why Mother? What’s happened?”
“Zeus is very upset with the both of us for causing such discord.”
“Why is he mad at you Mother? You didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I gave birth to you.”
“That’s bullshit!”
“Nova Rixa Kallisti watch your tongue! You’re staying here where Zeus can’t get to you.”
“Fine” I said, I had dinner and went to sleep. I was haunted by nightmares of Zeus killing me.
“Nova, Nova, Wake up!” My mother said shaking me.
“What happened? What’s wrong?”
“You were shaking and sweating bullets. You worried me, are you okay? What’s wrong?”
“Nightmares, I’m fine now.” I said, but I knew I wasn’t getting any sleep anytime soon.
Mother got in my bed and held me close and I actually managed to fall asleep and luckily for me it was a dreamless sleep.
