Despite loving chaos and destruction, Nova did care for the people that were important to him, and so despite his own headache from being hungover, he crawled off of the couch and made his cousin breakfast; coffee, waffles, orange juice and Advil.
“Cas,” Nova called, shaking his cousin’s shoulders, “Get up,”
“Never…” She groaned, snuggling herself further into the love seat.
“Alright, more waffles for me then,” Nova teased, walking towards the kitchen.
“No! I want some waffles!” She whined, pushing up off the love seat and coming after him.
“Here,” He said, setting the plate down in front of her.
She thanked him and started eating. They sat in comfortable silence while they ate and allowed their brains time to recuperate. After they finished eating they were doing dishes when the doorbell rang. Nova raised a brow, who would visit him? Maybe Venari needed him for something?
He opened his front door to be grabbed by his collar and slammed into a wall at a speed that he couldn’t keep up with, which is rare in the human world, the only things he couldn’t keep up with were gods themselves.
“Uncle Ares, greetings,” Nova muttered, giving his uncle a deadpan look.
“Who the hell do you think you are?! Getting my daughter drunk! Please tell me my twin didn’t raise one of those throw-back insecstual freaks!”
Was Cassida’s mother Eirene (The goddess of peace)? She was nothing like her father, but damn did they look alike.
“Daddy! Nova isn’t like that!” Cassida growled, pushing him off of Nova, “Did you really come all the way down here for that?! Tell me you had something much more concerning to talk about!”
“No! I came down here because I don’t think it’s safe for you to spend all your time with a chaos-weaver!”
“If he’s a chaos-weaver what does that make you? A warhead?” Cassida asked sarcastically, Nova decided it would be best if he didn’t say anything, it seemed as though his cousin could hold her own against the war god.
“I just don’t think it’s safe! I let you come here to stay with him purely on the idea that he wasn’t as crazy as his mother, but clearly I was wrong, your aunt and I never did such ludicrous things at your age.”
“That’s because you always knew Aunty Eris! We just met, we were just celebrating, it’s not like we’re going to get drunk every night and party like crazy; we were just celebrating,”
‘We aren’t going to be party animals? No fun…’ Nova thought and tried to contain his pout.
“Is this true?” Ares turned to Nova.
“Yes Uncle, I have only her best interests in mind,” Nova lied through his teeth, It’s not that he didn’t care about Cassida, he just really loved to party, and his cousin was good at it.
“Hm,” Ares studied him for a moment.
“Ares, love, come on back! Cassida’s a strong girl, she can look after herself!” Just as Nova had suspected, Eirene was her mother.
“Okay,” He sighed, looking back at Cassida, “Be good,”
“No promises,” Cassida said, laughing as he went back to Olympus.
“Alright, now,” Nova said, “How about causing some chaos?”
“Sounds good to me,” Cassida said, following him out of their apartment and into the bustling streets.
