I jolted awake and I sat up in the hospital bed, breathing heavily. I turned to see Temari sitting next to me, looking as pale and worried as ever.

"T..Temari...what....?-"

"Oh...thank god you're okay...!"

"How long has it..?-"

"Eight days..."

"Oh...hey...um...about Suna... I'm worried...I have a feeling that something bad happened..."

"..You felt right..."

"H-huh..?"

"The village was attacked..."

My eyes widened.

"W-What about Gaara..?"

"...They took him away..."

Chapter 3: The Chase

I clenched my fists and looked down. "Who did..?"

"The Akatsuki."

My eyes widened. "....how long has he been gone?"

"A few days..."

"...Dammit...!"

I tried to get out of bed but I dropped to my knees. "Ugh..."

Temari helped me up. "Let's go see the Hokage."

I nodded.

We arrived at Lady Hokage's office shortly and she gave me a sad look, which I returned. "So you heard, huh?"

I sighed. "Can I help go get him?"

"But your condition..-"

"I don't give a damn about me, I want to save Gaara."

"Sonia..."

"..."

"I understand..."

Lady Tsunade whistled and an ANBU walked in. "Go get Naruto and the others."

He nodded and rushed out. They all arrived a few minutes later.

"Message for Temari." The ANBU muttered. "Kankuro arrived back in Suna, and he's been poisoned..."

Temari's eyes widened and she lowered her head. "..."

I set a hand on her shoulder and sighed.

Naruto ran over to us and gave us a worried look. "We need to do something."

"Yeah, I know."

Lady Hokage sighed and handed me some medication. "Don't push yourself too hard..."

I nodded. "Let's go to Suna."

Then Tamari, Naruto, Kakashi, Sakura, team Gai, and I all headed off.
