A/N: HOLY SHIT IT'S BEEN A YEAR D;
I'm really sorry for taking an eternity, I've been, and am having a lot of issues, and I just haven't been up to updating, there were times where I sat here, and looked, but I couldn't think of any words to write... y'know? (about 40 times). So I kinda gave up for awhile and focused mostly on gaming and school. Now I'm improvising along with my original plan but unknowing if the results will be satisfactory or not... I'll do my best to continue this story even if it takes awhile. Also, I wanted to make this chapter longer but I figured you guys waited way too long already and that it's better than nothing. Sorry about all the cliffhangers, though. :/
A shadow lurked nearby, it's intentions dark and cruel. It watched the scene from afar and waited for the opportune moment to strike...
Death was looking friendly to Sonia, as she sat against a large oak tree.
She lifted her kunai and looked at her reflection through it, the mongekyou sharingan still glistening in her eyes.
"Why...?" She murmured.
The girl hugged my knees and sobbed. "Gaara..."
She'd lost a lot of blood from the wounds she'd sustained earlier, and her shirt was soaked in it.
Feeling faint, she smiled at the thought.
Maybe... This is the end?
...But then... Iku...
Images of her little brother flooded her mind and she clenched her fists.
"...I don't... want to leave you alone again... Iku..." she sobbed.
"I won't..."
She pushed myself onto her feet, only to fall back down and cough up more blood.
"...Damn it..."
She crawled back over to the tree and leaned against it again. Looking at the trail my blood left in front of her.
Her eyes returned to normal and she sighed, feeling the darkness begin to take her.
I'm so sorry...

In the distance, Naruto mourned the loss of his friend.
His friends watched him sadly as he vented his anger at the unfairness.
"Why...? Why did Gaara have to die like this? You're the Kazekage, damn it! You just became the Kazekage!"
"Calm yourself, Uzumaki Naruto." Chiyo sighed.
"Shut the hell up!"
"!..."
"It's your fault! If you goddamned Sand shinobi hadn't put that monster inside of him, this never would have happened! Do you have any idea what kind of burden he carried?! Damn the Jinchuriki...
You have no right to act like you're better, to label us and use us..."
His friends watched him sadly, in silence.
"...I couldn't save Sasuke... I couldn't save Gaara..." Naruto sobbed.
"I trained so hard for three years... and nothing's changed..."
Lady Chiyo's expression changed as she looked over at Gaara's lifeless body. She slowly walked over and knelt down next to him.
The woman closed her eyes and sighed as a gust of wind brushed away her doubts.
Lightly, she placed her hands over Gaara's heart, opened her eyes, and a blue glow formed around her hands.
It took a moment before Sakura realized what she was doing. "..! Lady Chiyo, that jutsu-..."
Naruto looked at them, confused when Sakura's expression darkened.
Unknowing, the boy sighed.
All were oblivious to Sonia's life slowly slipping away along with her blood.
The grass in the meadow danced, backup from the sand village made it's way nearer and Gaara's life slowly returned to him thanks to Lady Chiyo's life and Naruto's chakra.
[...]
Dumbfounded and wide-eyed, the young Kazekage sat up, surrounded by loving friends and villagers.
The blond boy helped Gaara to his feet as he looked around.
"... Where's Sonia?"
Naruto's eyes widened. "Ah-- Uhm... She...." He turned his head toward the direction she left off in. "Took a walk..?"
Gaara frowned. "Is she okay?"
"She...uh..."
"Naruto..." he growled.
"I don't know, Gaara." he looked towards the forest. "She went that way."
"Why didn't you keep an eye on her?"
"She wanted to be alone..."
"And you let her?"
"I'm sorry, okay? Why don't we go make sure she's okay?"
"Yeah, let's go..."
Gaara told his friends and the villagers to stay where they were and started walking towards the forest with Naruto.
The walking turned to a sprint and a bad feeling that Gaara didn't understand started making him feel sick to his stomach.

Step... Step... Step...
"...My my, so very close to death. So weak and vulnerable. Pitiful, really."
The shady man grinned. "What a lovely sight."
He knelt down next to her, touched the blood trickling down her chin and licked it off his fingers.
So much untapped power... Trapped inside a weak little girl... heh...
Come now, child, it is time.
He picked up Sonia and threw her over his shoulder, proceeding to leave as quickly as he arrived.
