I was currently sat at the bar by myself facing the crowd while drinking a glass of red wine as I watched everyone here. People were either dancing, getting drunk or engaging in conversation.
I watched as everyone tonight were basically here to drown their sorrows or were here looking for a one-night stand. I enjoyed watching them. I've already witnessed five make out sessions, a girl getting finger banged in the corner next to one of the huge speakers and two fights within these past two hours that I've been in here
So far, an entertaining night. There was something about observing people that I found amusing and watching how they act while alone for a moment or how they would interact with each other was intriguing to me.
People were strange but some were funny, how their faces would scrunch up in confusion when they weren't quite sure what someone said because the music was too loud, but they would nod along after a while, knowing damn well they didn't hear a thing.
It was amusing to watch.
At this point I scanned the rest of the place before getting ready to face back towards the bar and order myself another drink, until I spotted two girls. That's when I saw you.
You were small in height which was perfect for me because I'd be able to give you forehead kisses easily, and your hair -- it was short, lustrous, and raven black, ugh it was perfect. If only I could get a closer look at your face though, this distance between us right now is unbearable.
I will admit though, it was the tall blonde that caught my attention first, who I assume is your friend and is currently looking a little irritated with the you now, almost as if she's annoyed with you and whatever it is that she's saying to you seem to be making you have a look of uncertainty on your features, as if you don't want to be here.
I don't know what the blonde said next but now you're both making your way inside and heading straight to bar. Hopefully now I can see your face -- if all these fucking people would just move out of the way – Oh, wait... I see you.
You both chose to sit at the end of the bar, the perfect angle for me to see properly and might I say, you look effortlessly beautiful, and while you and the blonde both talk I can't help but look at every detail of you.
As the bartender makes his way over to you to take your order, that's when you looked at me, like directly at me. I for some reason can't seem to be able to look away and I can't help but stare into those bright emerald orbs – which maybe could just be the lighting in this place, but my gosh they are indeed breath-taking.
You are breath-taking.
Oh, I—is that a shy smile you just gave me just then? And now you're turning to talk to the blonde, who is now looking straight at me! Shit! Quick, look around the bar!
I managed to look away quickly, hopefully not looking like a total creeper. That would be awkward. However, I can't help but dare myself to take a quick look back in your direction and I now see the blonde talking to you again, smiling and nodding in my direction, giving you a slight nudge, like she's telling you to do something.
I'm eager to know what it is.
You roll your eyes at her playfully, shaking your head 'no' and I can't help but wonder what the blonde is saying to you. Is it about me?
You're both looking my way again! I looked away just in time though to not make me seem like a weirdo, I don't want to put you off me on our first time seeing each other.
Hold up. I can see you both from the corner of my eye and the blonde's nudged you again, this time with a little more force, so more like a push. What is she saying to you?
I look back over you way, but I'm looking around casually now, I don't want to make it too obvious, but I can see that you're walking in my direction. Why is she walking in my direction?
You're walking directly to me. Why is she walking directly to me?
Now you're standing next to me. Oh, my fucking gosh, she's standing right next to me.
"Hey." you greet me with that shy smile, but you don't look as shy as before.
Taking a quick glance at towards the blonde who is watching us now, with a knowing smile, I then turn to you and I can see you look less shy now, just a little nervous.
"Hi." I greet back, now suddenly feeling nervous myself, but knowing you are too helps in a way, it makes it easier.
Now I don't feel so much of an idiot for staring at you, for admiring you, which now that I think about it, that was probably obvious and that's why you're here looking as though you're out of your comfort zone, like this isn't normally what you do, going up to strangers out of the blue.
I mean, I could never, it would be too embarrassing for me.
"You're Y/N, right?" you ask me.
You know my name?! Of course, she would, we're soulmates.
No but seriously, how did you -- this is the first time we have ever seen each other. Surely I would recognize you. I could never not notice someone as beautiful and angelic as you.
"I recognize you from the bookstore, uhm... Waterstones, right?" you asked shortly after, seeing the confusion on my face, clearly.
"Ah right, yeah. I go there a lot, I like books" I say to you.
What a stupid thing to say, "I like books" well obviously Y/N!
So, we've been in the same bookstore and I've never even met you before now? This is truly fate.
"Me too," she says, that shy smile creeps up on your face again as you look down at your feet for a quick moment before looking back into my eyes with more confidence. Gosh, she is beautiful.
"I don't want to sound like a creeper or anything," you started to say with a slight chuckle. "I just noticed that every book I buy from there you've seemed to have read it too."
I smile at you then because what the fuck you read the same books as me? This was truly meant to be, right or is it just me?
"I saw you the other day," you continued. "You'd just left but I saw you sign your name on the sign sheet and I took a peek." you admit to me.
My smile grew then, which not long afterwards turned into a smirk. "So, you've been stalking me?" I ask you playfully, causing you to giggle and roll your eyes playfully in return.
The sound of your laughter was literally music to my ears and you suddenly weren't nervous anymore, you looked more relaxed, more comfortable. I made you comfortable.
"The name's Y/N, by the way. Y/N Y/L/N." I tell you, feeling nervous now as I extend a handout to you.
I had to touch you, even if for a few seconds, I needed that physical contact.
"Nice to meet you Y/N," you chuckle back to me, shaking your head slightly as you shook my hand.
Then I realised you already knew that. I'm a dumbass.
"I'm Penelope, Penelope Park." you tell me with the cutest, most adorable smile.
A genuine, happy smile. It was cute, like a turtle kind of cute.
"Nice to meet you, Penelope Park." I say to you, our eyes locked, still shaking each other's hands.
Oh, Penelope Park, what a pleasure it is to meet you.
