Penelope's POV

I just had to call you.

Yes, it's 3 o'clock in the morning, my head is spinning and feels a little cloudy, but I had it bad this time. I needed you and I couldn't fight it.

"Penelope?" I heard the worried tone in your voice, I felt guilty but I missed it.

I missed hearing you say my name.

You were surprised I had called you, I could also hear that in your voice too and it sounded like you were already out. I could hear the music playing in the background like you were in a club or something. I felt bad for calling you so randomly, but I wanted you here with me.

"Can you come over? I need you." I admitted before biting my bottom lip, waiting for your response.

I didn't have the energy to come up with an excuse or sugar coat it this time.

I didn't even have the energy to flirt and try to persuade you this time either. I didn't have the patience.

It's been awhile since we'd last seen each other, two months to be exact, but I couldn't get you out of my head because I missed you so much.

"Of course. I'll be there in 20." you said without hesitation before hanging up. No questions asked. All I had to say was that I needed you and you'd be there.

Y/N's POV

"Really? I'll be there in 20" Lizzie mocked me, causing me to roll my eyes at her.

"She needs me, Liz." was all I told her before I got up from the booth we were both sat at so I could get ready to leave.

"No." she said as she pulled me back down. "This is ridiculous, she calls you after god knows how long and you're there in a flash... just like that." she clicks her fingers, with an eyebrow raised.

"I love her, Lizzie. That's all you need to know." I told her seriously.

"That doesn't mean you should allow her to treat you like some dog on a leash!" she exclaimed.

"Lizzie, I-"

"Tell her." the blonde cut me off.

"Tell her what?" I asked, confused.

"Tell her how you feel, get it off your chest so she can finally tell you she doesn't feel the same way and you can move on" she said to me with a serious look.

I knew I probably should, but I wasn't ready to hear her say it. I was happy with how things were and it's what Penelope needs, plus this whole thing was technically my idea.

"Not tonight, but I will... eventually." I told my best friend as I quickly stood up and left before she could say anything else.

Penelope's POV

I looked at the coffee table in front of me.

Half a bottle of vodka and half a joint left and let's just say the vodka was a bad choice because my thoughts always lead straight to you.
