My New Reality

Y/n's POV:

I was just walking in the hallways at my school until I suddenly heard a couple of voices whispering to each other. "Girl, try another method! I'm sure you're gonna shift any day now!" The voice exclaimed. I start to get confused as I kept walking. "What time are we group shifting?" Another voice asked. I looked over to whoever commented that response to see a group of students standing by their lockers whispering to each other.

I quickly go over to them. "Hey, what are you guys talking about?" I ask. They immediately show me their phone, which had tiktok open. They were following this account called, "@shiftinghelp247," (idk if this is a real account or not) and it showed a video of different "methods to shifting. "What do they mean by method?" I inquire. 

The girl who was showing her phone to me suddenly faced me. "There's something called shifting. It means that you could literally "shift" to any reality you desire. Like, a movie series or a tv show." I instantly giggle at her response. "And y'all think that this is true?" I ask. She and her friends nod right away. She looks at her phone once more and goes to the comment section.

My eyes instantly widened. "Woah, so this is true?" I ask them, and once again, they nod again in response. The bell suddenly rang, which meant that I was late for class, but I didn't mind. I actually wanted to learn more about the whole shifting situation. I quickly ran to my classroom just in time. The teacher wasn't here yet. 

I immediately scurried towards my seat and sat down. A couple minutes later, the teacher finally arrived and continued with the lesson. I wasn't really paying attention to her actually, but I never did, so it was alright. Class finally ended, so I quickly went to my locker. I swiftly took out my phone and searched up "shifting" on tiktok. 

A bunch of accounts and videos came up, and I was amazed. How could I have not heard of shifting, when I'm on tiktok 24/7. I had a minute to get to my next class, and it was in another building. I abruptly put my phone back in my backpack and ran towards my other class. 

~Time skips~

School was done for today, and I was delighted. I quickly went to my desk and started to "research" all about shifting. I figured that I wanted to shift to Hogwarts, since my Harry Potter obsession hasn't gotten any better. I started writing a script all about my fake life, and finally finished. I was a 14 year old, Hufflepuff, that was siblings with Cedric Diggory. 

I wasn't really creative about it, but it was only my first attempt. I didn't even think that I would get it on the first try. Some said that it almost took months for them to finally shift, but that just made me more encouraged. 

My mom wanted our family to have a movie night, so that we could "bond," but I knew that wasn't happening. Since I was the oldest, we had to let my younger sister choose the movie, family friendly of course. She finally chose a movie, and it suddenly popped up onto the tv screen. "We Can Be Heroes," it read. I suddenly groaned at my sister's choice. 

"Not that boring superhero movie." I complained. (I very much love this movie, it's just for the story) "Welp, if that what your sister chooses, that's what we're watching today." I took a deep breath to control myself and we finally started watching the movie. 

I already watched the movie, since many people were talking about it, but I didn't really like it. The whole plot was cheesy, and the bad guys turned out to be the good guys. :/ (Again, just for the story) I didn't mind it too much, since I remembered that I would be shifting today, so we continued watching the movie in peace. 

~Time skips once again~

We finally finished the movie and I guess it was our "bed time," so we had to go to bed. I quickly went over my script, and flopped on my bed. I tried another method that didn't involve laying in a star fish position, cause that just seemed uncomfortable. As I closed my eyes, I started to count to 100 in my head. I started seeing white shapes form, while seeing a whole freaking light show. The next thing I know, I hear an alarm next to me. I quickly open my eyes in realization. I didn't shift. 

I took a deep breath and immediately shrugged it off. It was only my first attempt, so I didn't really put it on myself that hardly. I quickly jumped off my bed and started getting ready for school. I went outside of my bedroom, to see no one awake. I knew my dad wouldn't be here, since he had work, but my mom and my sister would be up already. "Ally?" I called to my little sister. No answer. "Mom?" I ask. No answer. 

I soon shrugged it off and started getting breakfast. I finally finished and instantly grabbed my backpack. I ran towards the door, but immediately stopped. I looked back towards my house. "I'm going to school, okay mom?" I yelled. Once again, no response.

I took a deep breath and exited my house. As I was walking to school, a black car stopped in front of me. "Oh nah." I complain. "I am definitely not getting kidnapped today!" I quickly kept walking until the car stopped in front of me once again. "Y/n y/l/n, please come inside of the vehicle." The person inside the car said. "Wh- wait, how do you know my name?" I ask.

"Well you're-, never mind. Just get in the car." "Alright then, but I'm warning you. I know self-defense." I warned. I quickly jumped in the car, ready to smack someone if they did capture me. The car suddenly stopped in front of a huge building, with a sign in front of it. "Go on." The person said. I quickly got out of their car and stood in front of the building. As soon I was gonna read the sign, a woman stepped in front of me.

"There you are y/n." She said. "Come with me with the others." I was still confused, but followed her instructions. She lead me inside of the building, which lead to a random vault outside of a room. One of her guards suddenly opened the vault door and I instantly realized.

I shifted to the freaking superhero movie.
