A/N: I read "The right thing to do" by Jackpotgirl and I NEEDED TO WRITE SOMETHING LIKE IT BUT HAPPY I CANT-

Also... sorry if all this is inaccurate and weddings don't work like that. I've never been married before xD

In the mirror, Brett saw a reflection of what he thought was himself, but so much different.
Was this him? He questioned, as he stood in the air-conditioned room fixing his tie and collar. The space was big and almost empty, just a white-sheeted double bed in the middle of it, a bedside table, a small wardrobe, and a vanity. Some decor was present but it didn't cover the odd feeling he felt there.

He was all alone after the groomsmen had left, leaving him to face reality. Old him would've never taken action in something he'll surely regret. He would've never chosen a girl he barely knew over his actual love, best friend, Eddy. One thing led to another and eventually, he got to this. He was about to consent to spending his whole life with this woman, loving her and marrying her as he wrote in his vows that he never wanted to write in the first place. Just because of one little problem that could've been somewhat easily solved, he was about to make his life a living nightmare.

Is this what a man should feel before leaving to the venue? Surely not.

The Tears that filled his eyes, threatening to fall weren't the occasional happiness, nerves or adrenaline, you'd feel before being wed to someone. They were fear and sorry. Would he ever be able to forgive himself for ruining his own life? Would Eddy forgive him? Would he even look him in the eyes after this?
He wanted to take the bowtie, suit jacket, and everything off and just run but it was too late as he heard the knock on the door. He was being called onto the altar.

He knew Eddy wouldn't be there no matter what. It wouldn't make sense if he would. Despite that, he was still searching for him in the crowds of people as he walked down the aisle. Though the hall was packed, it was empty for him, because eddy wasn't there. It felt as if everything was going in slow-mo and black and white. Everyone was clapping but he didn't hear, kids were throwing flower petals at him but he didn't realize. It maybe has been an hour of walking till he finally reached it next to the groomsmen, bridesmaids, and the priest. Cold sweaty hands, he had. He rubbed them on his black dress pants as he exhaled heavily feeling he needed more air. It felt like another decade till the braid came. He didn't even look at her, not even a glimpse. His head was low and all was inside there was...

Eddy, Eddy, Eddy, Eddy is going to hate me.
Eddy, Eddy, Eddy, Eddy is not going to be here.
Eddy, Eddy, Eddy, Eddy, I will never see again.

He didn't hear the preacher telling him to read his vows out that he didn't memorize. He pulled out the paper and started reading it out loud. He was stuttering, shivering, his hands were shaking and he could no more read the paper properly. It was a mess. Relief, he felt as he finished managing not even a smile. He didn't understand why she was crying from all those words he read out so cold-heartedly. She wiped her tears with the back of her hand, tilting her head upwards so that she doesn't mess up her mascara, and started reading hers. He didn't listen to a thing of course. His head was low pointing towards his feet and hands fiddling on each other's sleeves, and as she finished, looking at him hoping to see if her words affected him in any way. It didn't. And then the priest said the sentence that he has been waiting for.

"Speak now or forever hold your peace"

He was waiting for him. For him to open the doors and say it. He looked at the door hoping, hoping he would turn up.
After a few seconds, he lost hope and the ceremony went on. It was stupid of him to think that in the first place. Why would he want to stop this, if that's the game Brett decided to play? Why would he?

The next known question was asked by the pastor.

"Do you, Brett., accept, Roshina as your wife."

His heart started beating faster than it has ever before and his breathing got inconsistently quick. He looked into the crowd once more, looking for a face that he won't be seeing, and turned back to look at the bride and said,

"I- I..."

"I object!"

And there he was, shining in sweat as he came running. Out of breath, plump red lips slightly parted, hair messy, wearing un-ironed clothing, he came through the two wooden doors. All eyes were on him as he stood there chest rising up and down heavily.
All Brett felt was happiness. He pushed all the confusion of why Eddy did that to the side for another day. He then ran at a very speedy pace to Brett, pushing all the people in the way away. his smile was so wide compared to the half-open hanging mouths that everyone had on their faces. He stretched out his hand already though Eddy was still a few meters away, ready to fly away with him. His veiny slippery hand reached at last and grabbed the older so roughly that he lost balance and almost fell. They started running away immediately ignoring the family members that were screaming their names, ignoring the bride and her parents trying to run after them, ignoring everything. Nothing mattered anymore.
As they were running they glanced at each other both teary eyes and grinning.

"Hey." Eddy said, breathy, kneeling down, his hands on his knees as they stopped sprinting. now they were in front of Eddy's car.
Brett didn't answer and just took all the oxygen he had left and kissed him with all his might.

"I'm sorry, Eddy. I'm so sorry." Brett cried while embracing his best friend tightly, grabbing his shirt in his fists.

"Don't cry, come on. Let's escape and go somewhere far away." Eddy ignored the apology. It wasn't like he was going to forgive him in a click but he knew he didn't mean to hurt him.

He pulled the shivering man into the car and started driving. He put on the steering wheel and the other intertwined with Brett's, caressing his fingers with his thumb. It was a feeling he never thought he would get to feel. It wasn't near perfect but it will all get fixed sometime.

The younger asked his soon to be boyfriend, to take all the clothes he had on, off and put on the shirt and pants he put on the back seat. He didn't exactly like to be reminded he was about to marry another person just a second ago.

"Where are we going?" Brett asked, confused.

"To the airport, of course."
