Keeping my eyes downcast to the floor, I rushed to the classroom and took a seat in the very front. Draco would never sit near the front, the Slytherins always sit at the back, and if somebody already occupied those spaces they would force them out of their seat. It was malicious.

Shuffling had started to fill the classroom, when a very distinct voice had whispered into my ear, "Hello darling." No, how could I forget. I don't just have this class with Draco, I have it with Tom as well. Fuck. A major miracle will need to happen if I want to escape. Trying to get out of my seat, a shrill voice had infiltrated my peripheral hearing system.

"Please may everybody sit down." Just picking up the rest of my stuff I try to move before the voice repeats,
"Please may EVERYBODY sit down." Letting out a small sigh of defeat I had taken a seat next to Tom and Draco. Yay, the best possible seat.
"Good morning children. Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations. O-W-Ls. More commonly known as OWLs. Study hard and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so, and the consequences may be severe. Your previous instruction in this subject has been disturbingly uneven. But you'll be pleased to know, from now on you will be following a carefully structured, Ministry-approved course of defensive magic. Is that clear?"
Everyone had let out a grunt, somewhat sounding like a collective yes, but Dolores Umbridge had disapproved.
"Now now, we can be more enthusiastic than that surely?"
Rolling my eyes I had followed as everyone let out a much more obnoxious yes. God, I know I'm going to hate this class.
"I see you're all settled in already, and I have not had enough time to prepare a seating plan. If you all behave then you will stay in these seats for the rest of the year." Great. Another reason to make me hate this class.

After that Umbridge  had started to go through the 'carefully structured, ministry-approved course'. I looked to my left to see Tom avidly taking notes, obviously wanting to keep his perfect record. One day his true colours will show, and I will make sure I am there to witness it and tell everybody about how right I was. Slowly getting bored at watching Tom I decide to look to my other side, just to see Draco staring back at me, deep in thought. His cold blue eyes were plastered right on my face. I would be lying to say I wasn't slightly spooked, shudders had crept up my body.

The sound of shuffling had occurred again. It must be the end of the lesson, gathering my stuff up I walk out of the classroom and into the hallway. Trying to find my potions book for next period, a hand had reached out and grabbed my wrist. On the edge of screaming, a warmth had enveloped my mouth and pushed me to look at them. Riddle? What does he want? Signalling to take his hand of my mouth, he cautiously removed a few of his fingers and hearing no scream from me, continues to remove his whole hand.
"What do you want, Riddle?"
"Aww, why do you always think I need something." Motioning for him to get to the point, he started to respond,
"But, I want you to tell me why Blaise brought you to our table today. You guys were never friends and all of a sudden he brings you to us. Did you bribe him or something?"
I can't believe he thought I bribed Blaise to let me sit with them. I never wanted to in the first place. They were all just a bunch of dipsticks anyway.
"You really think I would bribe someone to sit near you. I mean you kind of ruined my whole life. I want nothing to do with you and never will. And on that note, adios." I finished with a little salute of my fingers, but obviously he didn't want me to leave as he had just grabbed my wrist.
"Wait-"
"Riddle no, I have a class to get to and I am not being late ok."
Knowing he wouldn't get any more out of me, he slowly let go of my wrist. Shit, he gripped it hard. There would definitely be a bruise there.

Deciding it would be better to treat it, I head towards the common room. Whispering pureblood to the door, it opened to reveal two sets of stairs. Once I had reached up the left staircase I took a sharp right to my room.

Creaking open the door, I stepped inside trying to find the first aid kit.
"Where is it?" I mutter you myself quietly but then realisation hit me. It was in Draco's room after he had chucked me in. This was going to be eventful. Taking small footsteps towards the bathroom door, I open it to see the other door, on his side.

"It will be okay, he's in class. He can't come. Just grab the first aid kit and leave."
Slowly opening his door I see the once pristine room filled with books lying on the floor and shattered glass covering the tables. It looked as if someone had a breakdown. What if he had a-. No, no that's not possible. He has the perfect life, what are you worrying about.

Slowly picking up small pieces of glass, I shudder seeing a Polaroid of him and I, from back when we dated. We were at the quidditch cup, in the best seats money could buy. But I really didn't care where we sat because he was what had made the game interesting. His smile lighting up when they scored a point but when the other team scored, he tightly bit his lip and tilted his head back. And he caught me staring at him, that's why in the picture I hid myself in his chest, a meagre attempt to hide my pink cheeks. I miss those days. But surely it all happened for the best right. If he had really loved me he wouldn't of believed Tom.
'Just keep telling yourself that.' Sometimes I really hate my conscious.

A door slammed. His door slammed.
"Snooping are we?"
Shit, I was in so much trouble.
