Kai woke up in his room once more, tired of this repetitive cycle. He sat up, relieved to find himself not restrained again. He made a quick scan of the room and caught Leo sitting in the corner.
Seeing that Kai was awake, Leo stood up.

"We have got to stop meeting like this," Leo said jokingly. He chuckled, amused by his joke.
Kai stared at him apathetically, already tired of Leo.

"Tough crowd," Leo said, wincing his face.

"Well, I assume you must be hungry?"

"Not particularly," Kai said, trying not to show any emotion.

"Nonsense!" Leo said. "I'll have my chef make you something. Any preferences?"

"Not really." Kai returned blankly, obviously lying.

"Sushi?" Leo asked

Kai felt like Leo had read his mind. Hiding the slightest hint of a smile, Kai nodded.

"Sushi it is then!" Leo said with a warm smile.

Leo walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. Kai could hear the lock click, sealing him in. He let out a deep sigh as he fell back onto his bed, the strings of his black hoodie hitting himself in the face. He removed them and glanced over at the corner where Leo was. Beside it was a small table with a lamp and some books. Tired and trying to be discreet, he quietly slid off the side of his bed. But on his way down, he hit his head on the bed frame.

"FUCK!" Kai exclaimed in pain

"Let's use our common sense, please." Said Leo, his voice coming from a speaker on the wall. The Speaker was new; he did not see it last time he was here.

Kai recovered and got up. He started walking towards the chair in the corner of the room.

"Common sense some hoes," Kai murmured under his breath, rolling his eyes.

Kai sat in the chair, sinking into it comfortably. He tucked his knees to his chest and ran his hand across the arm of the chair. It was large, pink, and covered in a soft material. It looked new, but it conformed to him as though he had sat in it for years. Like the chair was made for him.

He looked out the window and saw the sky begin to darken. The lights of the city in the distance grew brighter, becoming a beautiful horizon. Kai looked over at the small table beside the chair and noticed three tankōbon of Deathnote.

"Is this guy a stalker?" Kai wondered out loud.

Kai picked up one of the books and began reading it, losing his sense of time as he got lost in the pages.

Just as Kai finished reading the book he had picked up, the door opened, revealing Leo, walking in with a tray of sushi. It was plated beautifully, with cherry blossoms painted on the dark wood tray. He placed it on the small table and started walking to the door.

"Hey Leo," Kai said, making Leo stop and turn around. "thanks."

"No problem," Leo said warmly.

"enjoy," he said as he walked out of the room.

He felt relaxed for the first time since he'd woken up. He ate the sushi and placed the tray on the table.

The lights in his room turned off as night fell, leaving only the lights at the baseboards and under his bed to illuminate the room. He turned the lamp on and tucked himself into the chair. Not sure what to do, he stared out the window at the lit-up city until he fell asleep.
