Stain: You guys haven't even noticed... This warped society covered with hypocrisy and vanity. To all who are called heroes... I will make you notice.

The one known as the Hero Killer swiftly draw out his katana and sliced directly behind him upon sensing someone.

Stain: So you've found me... Shinigami.

Shinigami blocked his katana with his knife. Meanwhile, down below, the people were unaware of their presence. Walking by or distracted by the injured hero in the alleyway.

Shinigami: You're one of my targets, so of course I would find you. No doubt killing another hero.

Stain: They are fakes. Unworthy to the very name.

The two soon fought. Knife against a sword. Though viewed as a villain, the assassin could relate to him and his ideals.

Stain: Gotta say... despite the flaws society has. What drives you?

Shinigami: When I was a kid... I looked up to heroes all the time. They weren't just characters from comics and TV. They were just human, humans who wanted to do good in the world. To save people and stop those who would harm them. When Quirks first appeared, I desperately waited for mine because I wanted to be just like him. Just like All Might. Someone who jumps in and save the day with a smile, showing that there's nothing to fear and there is something to hope for. Sadly... I never got one and was picked on like many in this world because I was Quirkless.

He looked at his knife and clenched it hard. Every memory filled him.

Shinigami: That hoped died along with me. Thus was how I became what I am now. A lesson was learnt the day I joined them. Villains aren't born, but are made from experiences. Abuse, neglect, poverty, loss, etc. Society today. The heroes who swore to protect only protect themselves all for money and fame. As for those powerless, like the villains down there, they never once thought about committing crime. They only sought to have a better life, not for themselves, but to their love ones. Yet time and time again, they are denied because everyone sees them as nothing, but monsters that must be slain without a second thought. But looking back now, not everyone can be saved from a lifetime of rejection with just a little spark of warmth.

Stain: So we're the same in a way.

Shinigami: No. Because despite what I've done... I still held one to what I believed in. The promise to be a hero to my family. To my wife. To my daughter, who I rescued from a psychopath that experimented on her to make some damn drugs! See me as just a hired gun or a heartless killer, but one thing is for certain... I will protect them. Hero or not.

Stain: How noble and pure. Do whatever it takes to protect them! Protect those like them! You've have the aspects. So don't falter from what this world says. For that is what a true hero is!

Shinigami: I'm no hero.

The two clashed continuously. It went that way until he took an opening and struck the Hero Killer in the thigh. Stain coughed up blood and saw a massive wound on the abdomen. The assassin walks over to finish the job.

Shinigami: Your morals are just. If different than you could be what this generation needed.

Stain: Maybe... (coughs) But let me ask you something... How long will you continue this death game? ...Who side are you truly on?

Shinigami did not answer and finished the mission by stabbing him in the throat.
