I'm not sure where I am. Everything's dark.

Empty.

The last thing I remember is being on my bed when all of a sudden I couldn't see through my left eye. That definitely triggered my anxiety and I most likely passed out.

But I couldn't be going blind this soon! The doctors said by next year, why is this happening?

I feel a gust of wind hit my face and suddenly distant noises come closer. It sounded like someone was talking. I couldn't quite make out what they were saying or who they were since my ears were ringing.

"I'm just worried about him.." Finally I hear someone speak clearly, still not knowing who it was. Part of me hoped it'd be Bakugou but another part of me knew it wasn't.

I force open my right eye. It was the only eye I could actually open. The bright hospital light shines in my eye, as I look at the figure standing near the bed.

It was my mother.

Don't get me wrong, I'm real happy to see my mother. It's just..I expected Bakugou. My expectations are wayy too high. She noticed that I woke up and walked over to me with a smile. Her eyes were puffy and a few tears rolled down her cheek.

"Eijiro? Oh good you're awake..I was so worried about you." She wiped her eyes and gave me a brief hug. I didn't even know what to say so I stayed silent. I rolled over on my side as I watched her walk out of the room.

The doctor was in the room too of course. I had to ask him a few questions to understand what was going on. "uh doc..what's with my left eye? I can't open it." He grimaced, walking over to the bed.

"Your eye is open Kirishima." I felt my heart drop. "Are you telling me I'm blind in that eye? But you said I wouldn't be blind until next year! What's that about?" He sighed and grabbed his clipboard.

"I said it was a 30% chance you wouldn't be fully blind until next year. Sorry kid. At this rate you'll be completely blind in 2-4 months." I let out a sigh of frustration and ball my fists. My legs felt numb as I sat up on the bed.

The doctor handed me a cup of water and walked out the room with the clipboard. I didn't feel like doing anything. I just stared at the water and thought about what I'd do when I go blind. Would I have to stop trying to be a hero? Just give up?

I watched as the water rippled. Which meant someone must've been walking back into the room or I was shaking like crazy. The door swung open and aggressive footsteps came closer to my bed. I didn't even bother to look up at the person standing over me. It was probably just the doctor anyway.

"What the hell are you doing?" They said. I hesitantly look up at the figure. It was Bakugou. I could barely stop smiling. But it was especially good to know that he wasn't treating me too differently after finding out about my blindness. He's still the same guy I know.

"Bakugou? I'm surprised you came. But how'd you know I was-?"

"I'm the one who brought you here." My eyes widened. He brought me here? But how? "I decided to visit you 'cause you weren't in class. I'm glad I got an instinct to come in your room." He shrugged and sat next to me on the bed.

An awkward silence broke out for at least 3 minutes. "You scared me half to death." He finally said. If Im mistaken..it almost sounded as if he was at the verge of tears? I knew he would just hold back the tears if that was the case though. "I just saw you there. Helpless. Man I couldn't imagine what would.." he stopped himself from continuing and shut his mouth.

As he opened it back up to say something the doctor came barging in again. "Kirishima you should get some rest. It'd help." He set the clipboard down on the counter. "But I just woke up?.."

"I know. You don't want it getting worse right? Sleep may be the best solution for now." That didn't make any sense to me but I wasn't gonna waste my breath. He opened the door and signaled for Bakugou to leave. I knew he had to go but I didn't wanna be alone again. I let out a quiet sigh and laid on my side again, facing away from Bakugou. I could just feel him staring at the back of my head.

"Is it cool if I stay?"
