My alarm woke me up out of a dead sleep. I grab my phone, 4:02 am. Today's the big day, the day I move out to go to college and be on my own. I'd be lying if I say I wasn't a bit nervous. I get up and head to the kitchen to find my parents already up and eating a small breakfast.
"Good morning" my mom says from across the table.
"Morning" I smile back.
I looked to see she had made french toast for breakfast, my favorite. I sat down and grabbed to pieces and poured maple syrup all over them. We all had a casual morning conversation, about moving today and such. We were leaving here in about two hours since it was a five hour drive to NYC. After I was done I took care of my plate an headed upstairs.

I went to my room and got changed into a very casual outfit for today, dark wash skinny jeans and a plain white v neck. After pulling them on I rolled up the bottom of my jeans a few times until they turned into capris and headed into my bathroom.

All my makeup was packed away except one tube of mascara. I put on two or three coats of it and I looked at my hair. It was still in braids from last night. I took them out to have wavy hair for today. I tend to wear my hair like this a lot even though its naturally straight.

I headed downstairs to throw on my pair of flip flops and grab my purse. I found my parents in the living room all ready to go whenever I was. I went to the fridge to grab a water bottle and then threw it in my purse along with my phone. I grabbed my laptop off the coffee table and then I was ready. We headed out to the rental moving truck and headed on the road trip to the city.

*****

We arrived in the city at around 11:30 am. Thank god because that ride was one of the most boring things I've ever experienced.

About 15 minutes later we arrive at the apartment complex. It was newly built and looked really expensive. My dad stayed parked around back while my mom and I headed in to the front desk. The lady at the desk told us no one has lived in that apartment for around eight months. I wonder why?
My mom was nice enough to put down the down payment for the place and payed for my first month of living there. All I had to do was sign 20 million different papers. After all this the lady handed over my keys, two for my apartment and one for my mailbox. With this we headed to the elevators, since I was now living on the sixth floor.
