I woke up in my hotel room with a head ache. The pain was a top level type pain and I felt alittle light headed. I sat down for a second to catch my balance before I fell. My phone rang, it made my headache worse. I looked at the contact, it read "Hubby😍❤️".
I answered.

Joe: Hey babe, just calling to check up on you. I miss you.

Me: I miss you too

My throat was alittle croaky and dry. I went to grab a cup of water.

How: Hey, you alright. You sound sick.

Me: I feel sick

Joe: Maybe you caught something while you're in Montana.

Me: Hopefully I didn't. If so, I'm not coming home until I'm over it.

Joe: What do you mean?

Me: I don't want to bring it around you or anything

Joe: I think that's best.

Me: Yeah.

Joe: How long have you felt this way?

Me: I don't know. Since I woke up about a couple minutes ago.

Joe: Any headaches or anything?

Me: Yeah and bad.

Joe: I'm sorry honey.

Me: It's fine babe.

Joe: I hope you're okay.

Me: Me too.

Joe: How are you gonna go about it?

Me: I'm gonna see how I'm feeling tomorrow and if I get any worse I'm gonna make an appointment at the clinic a few minutes from here.

Joe: Good.

My stomach churned.

Me: Babe I'm scared. What if I have corona?

Joe: Then we'll deal with this together. I'm here cause you would be for me.

Me: I love you

Joe: And I love you.

Me: I'm gonna go shower and clean up the room alittle, I threw everything everywhere when I went out with my sister two nights ago.

Joe: Alright. I'll call later.

Me: Okay.

Joe: Bye.

Me: Bye Bye.

We both hung up and I took a deep breath. I closed my eyes to pray for a second that I didn't have what I feared I have. Because of Joe's medical history, I won't be able to go back to him if I have it. I couldn't risk it either. I didn't want to risk it.
I grabbed my purple towel and gray rag and threw it on the bed. I took out something to wear, just to take pictures in. I'm deciding to quarantine myself until I find out what's going on. I took out a red crop top, tight jeans with rips and my red chucks. I put on my shower cap and went into the bathroom and cut on the water.
After letting the warm water run down my body, I put soap on my rag and started washing my body. All of a sudden, my nose clogged up and I couldn't inhale through my nose. I rushed my wash because I couldn't really breathe. My shower was ten minutes shorter than it usually is. When I got out, I wrapped myself in my towel and walked out.
The next morning, I woke up to my stomach growling. My eyes were burning considering I hardly had them closed, I had gotten no sleep last night. I picked up my phone to check it and I had a missed call from Joe. I looked at the time and it was ten forty-five am. I needed some sleep, but I was hungry.
I got up and went to the kitchen to just grab a little snap, I grabbed strawberries and cut on the tv. Maybe the tv and a stomach of strawberries would help. After I got sleep, I would call Joe back. I bit into the strawberry, but didn't taste a strawberry. I was confused for a second.
I bit into it again and the same thing. I saw that a lot of people had no taste and it was a sign. It was a sign that I had covid. I grabbed my phone, in a rush, and called the nearest clinic. It happened to be twenty minutes from the hotel I was at.
I called to make an appointment, but they said that I could just do a walk in. I rushed to get myself ready and grabbed what I needed. I found Joe in my phone and called him. It rung for a minute before he answered.

Joe: Hey baby

Me: Hey

Joe: Where are you going?

Me: Clinic to get tested

Joe: Why, what's wrong?

Me: I have symptoms of covid.

Joe: Oh baby, I'm sorry.

Me: Yeah.

I pulled up and walked into the clinic and went to sign in. I filled out the papers and did what I needed to do. As I sat in the waiting room, I talked to Joe. I put my headphones in so I could hear better.

Me: Yeah, I just filled out the paper work. I hope to god I don't have it.

Joe: Baby, you're fine.

Me: I don't feel fine babe.

After maybe 15 minutes, someone came out and called my name.

"That's me", I said.

I followed her to a back room and she sat in her chair, while I said in the other one.

"What seems to be the problem today?" She asked, "you didn't tell me over the phone".

We were both wearing a mask over our face.

"Lately I've been having symptoms of corona and I have a husband back home and I can't risk the exposure", I explained.

"Understood" she said, "So you want a test".

"Yes just to be in the safe side", I told her.

"Okay well I'm gonna have you fill this out and I'll go grab the equipment", she explained.

She handed me a paper that was connected to the board and a pen. I put in hand sanitizer as she left out and signed what I was supposed to.

Joe: You okay?

Me: Yeah, just worried is all

Joe: I'm right here

I sighed.

Joe: Even if you do have it, you're a fighter and we'll get through this together

A smile snuck across my face.
