"Yes. Do it! KISS HER!"
Haeun's eyes shot open. Alarmed, she looked around to find the cause of the noise. It turned out to be Yejin who was watching a movie.
With an exasperated sigh Haeun let herself fall back into one of the fluffy pillows that were scattered across the couch.
"They will kiss eventually, Jinnie. Please, lower your voice", the younger girl complained. Yejin shot her a dirty look. "You are my guest. Deal with it." Haeun didn't miss the amused glint in her friend's eyes. She was just joking and both women knew that.
"I love you too", Haeun retorted with a tired smile, before she turned around to face the wall. She really wanted to fall asleep again, but it was hard. Even if Haeun tried to give everyone around her the impression that she was fine, she was far from it.
There was this big emptiness inside of her and nothing could seem to fill it. Not even the new job as a manager at one of the entertainment companies or her favourite chocolate chip ice cream managed to make her feel happy.
Her thoughts were constantly swirling around her soulmate. Who was he? What was he doing? Would he seriously remove the tattoo?
Haeun stared a hole into the baby pink wall of Yejin's living room.
Was he thinking about her too?
The young woman started to chew on her lower lip. It was a bat habit, but she couldn't help it whenever she was thinking really hard about something.
Something suddenly crossed her mind and she sat up abruptly. Next to her, Yejin let out a startled yelp. "At least give me a warning before you return from the death", the older woman shrieked.
"The platform!" Haeun looked at her best friend with an encouraging smile plastered on her face. Yejin only frowned, not really getting what the younger wanted to tell her with that.
"I'm talking about Soulmates.com", Haeun explained with a rather excited tone.
"Ohhh." Yejin let out when she realised were Haeun was getting.
The website was created to bring soulmates together. One can take a picture of their soulmate tattoo and an algorithm finds the corresponding tattoo from what was already uploaded to the database by other users. If a match is found, they will sent a message that contains the a link to a chat with the soulmate. Everything after that is up to the humans.
The possibility of Haeun's soulmate trying to find her through the website was a given. Even if he hadn't already uploaded a picture of his tattoo, she could still wait after she uploaded a picture herself.
