"This is crazy," I said to myself, staring at the water fowl seated around the table. There a pelican in a brown leather pilot's jacket, with a brown pilot's hat, and red hair sticking out, three smaller boy ducks, one in a green hoodie, one in a red collared shirt and cap, one in a dark blue shirt with light blue sleeves, a little girl duck with a pink bow in her hair and a pink shirt with a blue sweater vest over it, and an adult duck in a black sailor's suit. All of the staring at me.
At least, most of them were staring at me. Mandie and the pink duck were talking when I entered the room with Mr. McDuck.
"Are ye all right?" Mr. McDuck asked, putting a hand gently on my shoulder. I glanced back at him, and then at everyone else. Seriously, this had to be a dream. Either that, or I had died and my soul was lost or something.
"I'll be okay," I said, staring at the table. The table was quite large and oval, with at least twelve seats, five seats on one side, five seats on the other, and one seat each at the ends of the table. The five kids and the sailor duck were seated on one side of the table, and the pelican on the other side. I decided I'd sit on the less filled side, seated at least two seats away from the pelican.
As I slid into my seat, all the kids on the other side scooched out of their seats, and ran over to my side, crowding around me. Suddenly I was being bombarded with questions.
"Why did you fall from the sky?"
"Are you a spy?"
"Why were you in Uncle Scrooge's Money Bin?""Do come from an alternate reality?"
"Um..." I said, unsure who to answer first, and still feeling uncomfortable with the thought of giant talking ducks. I blinked and tried to calm myself down. "I'd really like to answer your questions, heck I'd like to know the answers to a few myself, but...I'd kind of like to eat first, if that's okay."
"Oh, right, of course," The pink duckling said, smiling and stepping back. "Come on, guys, we should give her some room and let her eat."
"But I have so many questions!" The blue-clad duck whined, as the red and green clad ducks pulled him away from me. Mr. McDuck gave the ducklings a glare and waved them off. Reluctantly, they left the dining room. Which left the pelican, the duck in a sailor suit, Mr. McDuck, me, and Mandie.
"Hi, I'm Launch Pad," The pelican said, his voice sounding very upbeat. He stuck out a hand for me to shake. "What's your name?"
"I'm Micha," I said, taking his hand and shaking it. His grip was strong - and his arms were super buff. If he wasn't wearing the pilot's jacket, I would have thought he was a body guard.
"Nice to meet you Micha," Launch Pad said, letting go of my hand. "And welcome to McDuck Manor."
"Thanks." I said, taking my hand back and smiling. Maybe this whole dream thing wasn't going to be so bad.
"So," Launch Pad said, leaning back in his chair casually. "Are you a Darkwing Duck fan?"
"Um..." I said, searching my memory for anything related to Darkwing Duck. It sounded familiar. "I think I watched it when I was a kid -"
"Awesome!" Launch Pad exclaimed, making me jump. "I have the whole series if you ever want to watch it."
"Thanks," I said again, not sure what else to say.
"Eh, Launch Pad, why don't ye go check on the kids," Mr. McDuck suggested. Launch Pad nodded and left, leaving only the four of us now. I looked over at the duck in the sailor suit.
He looked familiar....That's when I realized I'd seen him before. My dad is a big Donald Duck fan, and he has a Donald Duck t-shirt, plus a stuffed animal from when his parents took him to Disneyland. "Are you...Donald Duck? "
