Online school. Y/N hated it. "I'm so glad I'm almost done with this stupid class! I just wanna chill and do nothing every day!" Y/N whined. "Yeah, yeah, would you quit your whining? I'm trying to read, you idiot" Bakugo said while reading a book he took from Y/N's bookshelf. School was almost over for Y/N and summer break was right around the corner. The days had gotten much, much warmer, and although Y/N hated the heat of the sun during summer, she took it as a sign that the chains of school that held her from doing absolutely nothing would be broken soon. "I'll finally be able to sleep as much as I want!" Y/N said dreamily. Bakugo grunted at this. It did annoy him whenever she had to stay up to do homework, but it was mostly her fault. She took pride in being a procrastinator, for whatever reason. "Maybe you shouldn't distract yourself all the time" he said. "I know, but I can't help it! Homework is so boring!" Y/N whined once more. "You need to get smarter and crush those losers in your class like bugs" Bakugo replied, giving a small smirk. "Hmm..." Y/N didn't care if she did though; as long as she had good enough grades to get her to pass, she could care less. Her little brother had suddenly barged in her room, causing her to jump, letting a quick "huh" spill from her mouth. "What the heck do you want, Nate?!" Y/N asked, making sure that her annoyance was evident in her voice. "Nothing, jeez..." Nate said, beginning to walk in her room and slouch against her wall. "Ugh, does he really have nothing better to do? Maybe he shouldn't act up all the time. He'd at least have a device to entertain himself with" "I'm bored" Nate said. "Good for you, now get out" Y/N replied sarcastically, grabbing him by the shoulders and moving him towards and out her bedroom door. "Don't touch me!" he groaned. He walked away, most likely back into his own room. "Ugh, he's so annoying" Y/N sighed. "I almost feel bad for you. Almost" Bakugo suddenly spoke. "You're annoying too!" Y/N plopped back down onto her bed, deciding to pass the time watching YouTube videos.
....
....A week later
Y/N sighed with content. She was officially done with middle school. "Yesssss! Finally!" She squealed. "Will your complaining finally be over?"
"...no prolly' not"
Bakugo groaned. However, this wasn't exactly a groan of annoyance. He'd been living in Y/N's home, in her room, for three months now. Now, he wasn't so annoyed with Y/N. If anything, he was actually quite content with her around. She had annoying sides to her, but he had to admit, she had good sides to her as well. He soon found her loud laughter sounded almost like music to his ears. He liked the way she gushed about how cute something was. He liked the way she'd say no without really meaning it. He liked the way she'd drool at the thought of food. He liked the way she'd blush whenever he teased her. No...he didn't like it.
He loved it. He loved everything about Y/N. Bakugo was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door to he and Y/N's room shut. "I guess she went outside to take her dog out" Bakugo concluded. Bakugo smiled slightly. To think that'd he'd fall in love with some girl he'd met through a game he was trapped in. To think he'd eventually fall in love with her, as expected— "Yo wassup" Y/N suddenly spoke, pulling Bakugo away from his thoughts once more. "You're done already? That was fast" Bakugo said. "Mhm, now it's time to chill" Y/N opened up her laptop and played some games, as she planned to do for most of her summer break. Bakugo and Y/N didn't make up much conversation, but there was no need to. There was a comfortable silence. "Hmm...this is pretty nice. Does this mean Bakugo is going to live here forever? Or will he leave soon? It's a lot to think about...I hope he doesn't leave. At least not yet" Y/N thought, wondering if Bakugo would move out with her when she's older. She blushed slightly, shaking her head as if to get that thought out of her head. "Don't think like that, weirdo" she scolded herself. Bakugo sat on Y/N's bed, watching as she played some zombie shooting game. "Aren't you scared of zombies?" Bakugo asked. "Yeah, but I like the adrenaline rush I get! I also think these kinds of games are fun" Y/N answered. "Oh..." Bakugo said. "Hey, wanna play—"
SLAM.
The slamming of a door could be heard outside the bedroom. Y/N stayed silent, sighing slightly. "What the hell was that?" Bakugo asked. "My mom and step dad are fighting again. It's nothing new" Y/N replied, her figure stiff. She hated when things would slam. It was like a childhood trauma. Both she and Bakugo could hear her parents yelling loudly at each other about something unknown to them.
"FUCK YOU! YOU PISS ME OFF!" Y/N could hear her mother scream.
"WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THIS?! FUCK!" The pounding of a fist against a door could be heard. Y/N shook slightly. She could hear loud stomping coming closer towards her room. Another door slam again.
"IT'S YOUR FUCKING FAULT!" Y/N stayed silent as she stared straight down at her desk. She didn't dare look at her stepfather.
SLAM.
Y/N broke into tears immediately after her stepfather had left. She hid her face in her arms, slouching onto her desk, unable to hold in her broken sobs. Bakugo watched as she cried, drool falling from the corner of her mouth. "UGH-! I h-h-ha-hate HIM! I FUCKING HATE H-HIM!" Y/N cried, gritting her teeth and clenching her fist as hard as she would let herself. Bakugo slowly leaned towards her, engulfing her quivering figure in his arms. She cried harder at this. "Shhhh..." Bakugo soothed, gently brushing away Y/N's unkempt hair from her face with his right hand, while his left arm gripped around her figure protectively. Y/N's sobs weakened, beginning to only sniff at the boogers that had leaked from her nose. She felt disgusting and embarrassed. She didn't dare look up from her desk, fearing that Bakugo would see her tear-stained, drool-stained, leaking booger-stained face. "I'll get you some tissues..." Bakugo said, releasing her from his hold and leaving into the living room where her stepfather sat, looking down at his phone. Y/N missed the warmth Bakugo gave her. She missed him. Bakugo had come back with a few tissues. "Let me see your face" Bakugo demanded. Y/N shook her head weakly, in protest. Bakugo raised her head gently and turned it so that she was now facing him. Finding no more strength to object, Y/N gave in and let Bakugo clean her face. "T-Thank you..." Y/N stuttered, her breathing still a little hard from her loud sobbing. Bakugo grunted, showing that he acknowledged and accepted her gratitude towards him. "I'm going to go s-shower" Y/N said after he had finished wiping her tears off her face. "Now? What about your dad?" Bakugo inquired. "I don't wanna sleep all gross. And that man is not my father" Y/N said, her last sentence's words seeming to drip venom. "Okay" Bakugo replied. Y/N grabbed her towel and loafers and brought it into her restroom, locking the door behind her, preparing to take a long, much-needed bath.
Bakugo watched as Y/N shut her bedroom door behind her, leaving him to finally think about the scene that had just unfolded right in front of him a few minutes ago. He didn't know her stepfather was abusive. He didn't know how much pain and suffering she must've gone through. He hated that man; he knew that now. 'That man' had hurt Y/N so much to the point where she couldn't even look at him. She was that afraid of him. 'That man' deserved ten times the amount of pain he gave Y/N. 'That man' deserved death. "Y/N...I won't ever let that fucker hurt you ever again. I promise" Bakugo seethed. He clenched his fists. "I'll kill him before he ever gets the chance."
