You stood near your mother and your brother stood near you. You stared at the scene in front of you. Police officers stood in the middle of all the blood in your garage. "We'll need to investigate the area for a while to gather evidence. It looks like a homicide," the chief officer spoke to my mother. My mom's eyes were filled with tears, and her face held confusion and sadness since she first entered the house. "He was my husband... I don't understand..." she sobbed. The officer gave my mother a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry to hear that. For now, you and your children should stay in a hotel or a family member's home for the next week or two. This investigation will take lots of time, considering that not many clues were left behind" the officer spoke. You had yet to say a word.
"Come on, wait for me in the car" my mother said. You and Nate held no complaints and complied with your mother. You sat in the front seat passenger side, while your brother sat in the back. You could see your mother speaking to someone on the phone; most likely your grandma, aka her mother. You turned your focus onto your front yard instead, and decided to space out. You delve into the thoughts that had been running through your mind the entire time.

"Where's Bakugo?"
"What's going to happen now?"
"I hope my mom's okay..."
"I'm scared."
"Why did Bakugo kiss me?"
"That was my first kiss..."

Bakugo was nowhere to be found. You thought that maybe he was trying to conceal his presence for now, even though no one can see him anyway.

"Y/N... I love you. I'm in love with you."

You blushed, but shook your head shortly after. "Now isn't the time to swoon," you thought. You sank into the passenger seat, closing your eyes for a short moment. Everything happened so quickly. Your stepfather was murdered...and you know who the killer was...

No one would ever believe you even if you did tell them.

Coming to this conclusion made you feel confused. You turned to your brother who sat in the back. He sat slouched down, his head resting on the car's side door. He was asleep. You sighed, understanding his lethargy. You then heard a click coming from the door to the right of you. You turned to the driver's seat, assuming it was your mother.

"Huh...?"

There was no one there. You lowered your eyes to the back seat to the right, peering at the window, yet couldn't see through it clearly. The door slowly opened, and Bakugo came into view.

"Shhh..." he held a finger to his lips. You were stunned, but came to your senses just as quickly. In an effort to not wake your brother, you spoke in a hushed tone. "Where did you go? You left after...after we k-kissed..." your tone was nearly above a whisper when you spoke the last word of your sentence. He sat down on the right side of your brother, still maintaining distance, closing the door soon after. "I just walked to the side of your house. I went to think for a bit."
You nodded, understanding that he might've need a bit of space after all...that.

"Worried that I was gonna leave you by yourself?" he spoke teasingly, giving you a mischievous smirk. You looked away, feeling strange in your stomach. "No... I was just curious" you said. An uncomfortable silence came shortly after. A few minutes passed by, and Bakugo finally spoke up. "I'm going to be with you forever, I hope you know that. You're too weak to take care of yourself, so I have to take care of you." You nodded, seeming to agree with him. He stared at you for a bit and gave a nod, appearing satisfied with your response. In reality, you were too tired to argue against his claim of you being weak. Bakugo being your protector didn't sound too bad either. You desired nothing more than someone who'd be there for you, willing to protect you. "I'm tired..." you said, deciding to speak out how you felt at the moment. You closed your swollen, reddened eyes, letting exhaustion take over your body. Bakugo stared at your tired, vulnerable form. "Looking at you like this... Y/N..." Bakugo spoke quietly. "I won't ever be able to let you go."
