The Dream Sequence

Below Zero

I woke up at this place. It looks like an apartment complex but you really can't tell. I get up and put on the extra layers that I found in the bedroom. I then frantically start searching for my cats. I came here with my beautiful kittens. One is name Panther and the other one is named Pumpkin. I can't find them in this section. Where are they?

I open the door and feel the temperature drop to 40 degrees in the hallway. I do remember that my car is outside but with the flash freeze warning, I'm not sure I'll make it there in time. I start heading down the stairs and hear a gun shot.

LEAVE. You need to leave. People are getting murdered. I run down four flights of stairs and get to the front door. I look over to my left and I see Pumpkin and Panther on the ledge covered in snow trying to stay warm.

"My poor babies. How did you get here? It's so cold outside."

I grabbed my kittens and stuffed them as close as I could to my body. They needed to get warm so they are able to survive. I missed them so much. Panther and Pumpkin instantly started purring and coming back to life.

I think they will survive. I looked up the stairs and saw a guy he yelled "get her." I ran out the door and down the sidewalk.

I ran. I kept a good hold of my kittens and ran past people with fires in the street. "You don't belong here."

"I'm leaving . Let me just get into my car."

I got into my car. It felt like a cave of freezing ice castles that froze you when you touched them. I locked my doors and started my engine. It took sometime to turnover but once it did, I turned on my heat to full blast.

My car took 10 minutes to heat to 60 degrees. I opened my large car carrier that housed self warming blankets, a litter box and food and water for my babies. I took the kittens out from their warm burrito of a coat and placed them in their carrier. I opened a can of wet food and put it in the bowl and they instantly began eating it.

I heard a crack of the gun. I instantly turn around. I don't understand what is happening. Why is everyone after me. I put my car in drive and drive like I've never driven before.

I turned on my radio. This is the emergency broadcast system. Please take shelter, flash freezing starts in 5 minutes. Temperatures will drop to 100 below zero. You will freeze instantly.

This can't be happening. This is the worst nightmare. I need to find shelter ASAP or a charging facility that I can charge my car and let the car carbons out.

As I'm driving, I could see everything turning to ice behind me. This isn't good. I see a sign that says charging station and I immediately go off the road. I back into the little shed type structure and push the charge button in my car. I turn the heat to its highest setting. We will survive this thing. I have enough food, water and cat food and water to last us a month or more. We can do this.

And then everything went black. Like super black. And the dream ended.
