"Mom, stop it!"
"Draco, dear, stop moving I need to get you ready for your first day"
"I'm fourteen, I can get myself ready, move"
After some minutes of struggling, Narcissa Malfoy finished arranging her son's hair and clothes.
"Finally, mother, I'm going now, good-bye"
Draco turns around to leave the house, but his mother's hand stops him from walking out
"Son, you can't go to the station alone"
The young Malfoy looked reproachfully at his mother, Narcissa couldn't help but jump back a little bit, since the dark look in Draco's face inevitably reminded her of the Dark Lord, for whom she has been working for years. Narcissa always wanted to think the resemblance in small details, like a dark look of anger or a malicious grin, between her son and her boss were just a coincidence from the fact they were both Slytherin. But the more Draco grew, the more Narcissa worried about him choosing the wrong path, and the only thing she could do about it was pray someone would convince him of fighting the darkness instead of embracing it.
"Yes I can"
And with that short phrase, Draco left. His mother knew she has to show him he's not in charge, show him that she's his mother and he has to obey her. But she couldn't. She was afraid of pushing him away more than she already has. Draco only ever listened to his father, Lucius, and no matter how hard Narcissa tried, her son never saw her as an authority figure. Which is why she decided to give him everything he wanted, she thought in that way her son would respect her, although it seemed to have backfired.

Draco stood alone in front of platform nine and three quarters, looking directly at it. He knew he just had to walk through it to get to the station where he'll wait for the Hogwarts Express, he'd done it a thousand times before. But still, for some reason, he felt frozen in place. Maybe it was because a few instants ago he saw Harry Potter, the boy he hated the most, go through the wall with all his friends, laughing and jumping up and down. Draco couldn't stand Harry's attitude and popularity, 'who does he think he is? If he's not attracting attention for being saved by sheer luck, he's out here jumping like a 3-year old to get some people to look at him. Pathetic.' He thought. Another thing he couldn't stand about Harry was that he never took school seriously, even with that 'granger mudblood' hanging on his arm he couldn't even try to learn something. Draco had the second-best average of the fourth year, after Hermione Granger, but he never got any type of credit for it. While the Potter boy was praised for doing the bare minimum. 'I am the perfect example of the ideal student, I have straight A's, I am the most popular in my house, I am the seeker of my Quidditch team, I always have all school material, my posture is ideal, my clothes and hair are always perfectly arranged and I'm rich. Yet teachers always put Potter over me.' Draco thought, and in a way, it was true.
After some minutes of examples of how Draco was better than Harry, Malfoy decided it was time to step into the platform since both wizards and muggles were starting to glare at him weirdly. The first thing Draco sees is Harry, 'Can't get rid of him, can I?' he thought and then turned around to find Crabbe and Goyle. Crabbe and Goyle are two Hogwarts students that seem to have the anatomy and brain of a Gorilla. They have been right behind Draco since their first year, like two loyal servants, they always do whatever Draco tells them to do, without question. Draco gets annoyed at them constantly, but also he feels somewhat grateful towards them, not that he would ever admit it out loud.
