"And I couldn't be sure
I had a feeling so peculiar
That this pain would be for
Evermore
(Evermore)
Can't not think of all the cost
And the things that will be lost"
-Taylor Swift "Evermore"A couple hours had went by since the engagement, Harry and Draco were still lounging on the sofa. Just enjoyed each other's company.
Draco stirred. "Harry love, we should go tell Mother of our engagement."
Harry groaned. "Dray, I don't want to get up. I'm comfy where I am." He pouted.
Draco chuckled. "I do not wish to disturb your highness but I also do not want to make Mother sore."
Harry reluctantly got off the sofa. "Let's freshen up." He slowly walked out of the room and Draco followed.
Once Harry and Draco were ready, they walked to the floo and said "Malfoy Manor". Of course as they landed, Harry stumbled like every other time nearly taking Draco with him.
When Harry and Draco righted themselves and saw that Severus was there smirking. "Well, Potter still clumsy as ever I see." Something caught his eye. "I suppose congratulations are in order." Eyeing the rings on their left hands.
Draco smiled. "We already know Harry can barely stick the landings when it comes to the floo. And thank you, Sev. It happened just a few hours ago and I wanted to inform Mother."
Severus nodded. "I am sure Narcissa will be pleased." He smiled slightly. "I must take my leave. If you need me I will be the library." He nodded to both of them and walked away.
Draco and Harry went to find Narcissa who was in the sitting room.
Narcissa noticed them come into the room and stood up to greet them. "Hello darlings. What a pleasant surprise! What is the special occasion? Did I forget that you were coming by?" She smiled sweetly.
Harry blushed a smidge. "You didn't forget because we weren't planning to visit but earlier today I proposed to Draco." He down at his feet. "Ooofff!" Narcissa unexpectedly hugged him.
Narcissa pulled away slightly. "Oh that is such wonderful news, dear! You do not know how happy I am for you both!" She had some tears in her eyes. She walked over to her son and hugged him just as tightly. "Ohhh Draco darling! I could not be happier than I am right for you!" Narcissa noticed how Harry looked forlornly at them. "Harry darling, whatever is the matter?" She smiled softly at him.
Harry looked away embarrassed. "It just kinda hit me that my parents, Sirius and Remus won't be here for my wedding. I always wished they could all be there. I know I have the Weasleys, you and Draco but it still feels like something is missing." A tear ran down his cheek.
Narcissa hugged Harry once more. "Harry, I know it is a difficult time for you but you have many people who care for you and want the best for you. Myself included. I know Arthur, Molly and I can not replace your parents. And Severus certainly never replace Sirus or Remus." She chuckled lightly. "We are always here for you no matter what." For a moment Narcissa was lost in thought. Suddenly she released Harry. "Excuse me for a bit. I need to attend to something." She quickly left the room.
Both Draco and Harry were confused by Narcissa's abrupt departure.
Draco went to Harry and took him by the hand. He lead them to a sofa where he held Harry close as he cried softly. Draco gently rubbed his back and whispered sweet nothings into his ear, to help calm him. They silently sat there for what seemed like hours.
After Narcissa left, she went up to the Malfoy secret library where they kept the family's blood magic books. When she had heard how sad Harry was, she thought of something that she had long forgotten about. There was a spell that could bring back loved ones. She grabbed the book that had the spell. Narcissa flipped through the pages and finally found the the perfect spell. She looked over the words.
