But I'm a fire, and I'll keep your brittle heart warm
If your cascade ocean wave blues come
All these people think love's for show
But I would die for you in secret
The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me
Would it be enough if I could never give you peace?
-Taylor Swift "Peace"One Year Later
The day that would live in infamy had finally arrived. Draco and Harry were getting married. They had decided on having the wedding and the reception at Malfoy Manor, much to Narcissa's delight. Both Draco and Harry worried that everyone would be hesitant to come to the manor but Narcissa insisted that no one would even recognise it because of the cleansing and renovations she had done. Harry had asked Minerva to officiate and she happily accepted. And Harry asked Luna to be his best woman and she dreamily accepted the position. Draco asked his mother to walk him down the aisle and she started crying because she was so happy for him and could not wait to give her son away. And Draco cautiously asked Blaise to be his best man and surprisingly he said yes.
The wedding guests started to filter in little by little. Everyone was in awe of the grounds of the manor. The manor itself was decorated with Slytherin and Gryffindor colours and shimmered in the sunlight. As the guests were seated, they noticed Harry, Minerva, Luna and Blaise standing in front of an elaborate arch with red roses and ivy covering it. Once everyone was settled, a violinist started playing. All eyes were focused down the aisle as Draco and Narcissa walked down the aisle arm in arm. Both looked like they already started crying even before they started walking. Draco could not stop staring at Harry all dressed up. He was mesmerised by the boy who lived. Harry was wearing a Gryffindor red robe trimmed with Slytherin green while Draco wore a Slytherin green robe trimmed with Gryffindor red. When Draco and Narcissa reached the end of the aisle, Narcissa let go of her son and hugged Harry. She went back to Draco and hugged him too. Her eyes were brimming with tears as she sat down next to Xenophilius. Harry and Draco hold each other's hands giving one another watery smiles.
All of the guests fell silent as Minerva started to speak. Minerva cleared her throat. "Welcome everyone. As many of you know, when I first laid eyes on Harry and Draco on the stairs of Hogwarts they were at each other's throats. I never saw two boys hate each other so ferociously." She and the guests chuckled. "I never thought I would be witnessing these two marrying one another, let alone officiating for them. I guess it is true that there is a fine line between love and hate. It is amazing to see another Slytherin and Gryffindor partnership to grow into something beautiful." She looked to Hermione and Severus with a small smile. "Both Draco and Harry have been through hell and deserve some happiness. I am pleased to see they found it in each other. It is not an easy task to find love especially one so extraordinary as theirs. I wish you both many years of love and happiness." She smiled at them both. "Now both Draco and Harry have written vows they would like to share with you and each other."
Harry looked at Draco and smiled. "When we first met, it was like we were a cat and a dog. It only got worse as we got older and deeper into the war. I never thought I would be standing here with you. I thought I would have married Ginny and lived happily ever after but things veered into a completely different direction for both of us. Life has a funny way of turning the tables on you. Though I would not want it any other way. Getting to know you and your mother have been some of my favourite memories. When I was first introduced to the Wizarding World, I had been so lost. At the time my parents were gone and I had no one but then Hermione and the Weasleys became my family and Hogwarts became my home. Now my parents, Sirius and Remus are back thanks to your mother and you are my home Draco. Everything that we have been through has led us to this particular moment. I can not wait to see what our future has in store for us. I love you with all my lion's heart, my little snake." Draco had tears in his eyes as Harry finished.
