I woke up at around 9am, the heat of the sun had been cooking at my skin keeping me warm and toasty in the complete wilderness. My back ached from the uncomfortable positioning of the grass beneath me where I'd decided to sleep for the night. I opened my eyes, greeted by the light of the sun, blinding my eyesight as I rubbed them in circular motions, this part of the world still held its beauty, there was something so pretty about the way the sun rose above the trees and the hazy grass. I stretched my arms out and let the morning air take me as it's wild prisoner, the feeling Freshening my body from its sleeping state. I sat still for a few minutes, becoming one with nature and my surroundings.
until I realised he wasn't there...

I freaked out for a second, heart starting to pound in its cage.
"Alex?"  I shouted, concern filling my voice
I didn't hear a response back, the only thing that had responded to my urging shout was the smell of freshly cooked food. I followed my nose, intoxicated by the beautiful aroma and scents that had filled the air, with each step closer the smell grew thicker and hypnotised my body as I realised my pent up hunger growling in my stomach. I was so close now I could hear the sizzling of bacon and sausages. I licked my lips, ready to ambush for the food that had been cooked, until I realised, it was Alex.
He laughed at my expression
"I knew it" he exclaimed
"I see how food means more to you than me then" A dramatic facial expression curved on his face as he poked me with the spatula he held in his hand.
I rolled my eyes at him and protested, punching him slightly in his left arm.
"That's not funny I was really concerned!"
He used his left hand to pull me in his embrace and kissed the top of my hair, whilst flipping the sausages around with the spatula in his right hand.
"Well I'm sorry em" he tried to say seriously, though I could hear the slight giggle in the back of his throat.
"But aren't you excited to dig in?" He asked almost as if he could feel the hunger that shone in my eyes.
"Where did you get all of this" my eyes widened and I licked my lips once more, my fingers stretched out to grab the sausage in front of me.
"That" he said, whilst swatting my hand away "my darling, is my little secret" he winked at me in response to my scowl.
He picked me up and plonked me on the make shift stool he had prepared for me, before handing me a paper plate filled with eggs, bacon, sausages, fresh bread and hash browns.
drooling at what my eyes feasted upon, I took a bite into my meal and my mouth exploded with different flavours and textures, filling me with happiness and contentment.
"What's the plan for today, anyway?" I asked.
We had left the town and decided to sleep in the forest last night, though tonight I had no idea what was coming...
