Story of The Lost Boy - Chapter 4

On 18 March 2011, Professor Nick woke up at 5 AM, looked at Amanda, and smiled. She was sleeping. He went to the bathroom silently and brushed his teeth. He went to check on his little daughter Lydia, she was sleeping beautifully, she was just 3 years old. He thought he was lucky to have a daughter. He went to the kitchen and made himself a coffee. He drank his favorite coffee, then he went to his bedroom and changed his clothes for running. He wore his favorite grey sweatpants and a black hoodie. He took his keys and his cellphone. He checked his wristwatch, the time was 5:15 AM and then he left the house. He went outside for walking. It was raining. He was kind of sad because he quitted his favorite job. He was taking steps carefully because of the wet sidewalk. He could smell the soil. He was listening to Mozart while walking. He was a classical music lover like his best friend Marcus. He was thinking about Marcus and his friends at Jarvis Genetics. He was thinking that if he made the right choice by quitting his job at Jarvis Genetics. He knew that Doctor Bradford made him quit but why did he give up so quickly. He had to secure his family at all costs. Doctor Bradford was manipulating the board members at Jarvis Genetics. Professor Nick nodded glumly. His outfit was completely wet, he could feel the wetness in his skin and it was irritating. He checked his wristwatch, it was almost 30 minutes. He thought it was enough. He turned his way back to his home. Professor Nick had a huge house, it was one of a kind. He arrived at his home after 10 minutes, he opened the door slowly but he couldn't avoid doors cracking sound when he was opening it. He could smell the delicious breakfast at the entrance. "Welcome honey, I was waiting for you, Where have you been?" said Amanda. "I went for jogging Honey. Amanda that thing you made smells incredible honey. What did you cook? I am starving." said Professor Nick. "Thank you sweetheart but it's nothing, just an omelet with vegetables. I think you should take a shower, you are completely wet" said Amanda, " Yes, I should hahaha. Sounds amazing honey. I cant wait to eat that delicious omelet. I will be in the kitchen in 15 minutes." said Professor Nick. He went to the bathroom and put his clothes into the washer. He couldn't stop thinking about what to do next while showering. He thought retirement is not for him he had to find new hobbies. He showered for 12 minutes. He went to his room to wear some clean clothes then he went downstairs. 

"There you are honey, let's eat before the food gets cold, I also made us green tea," said Amanda.

 " You are so thoughtful Amanda. Let's eat," said Professor Nick. Professor Nick waited a couple of minutes.

" Amanda, I am not sure if I made the right decision by quitting my job. I am still overthinking this situation. I need your advice." said Professor Nick.

" I don't know Nick, you did not even tell me the specific reason for your resignation. I thought you loved your job. You were lucky, not many people had the chance to work with their best friend." said Amanda.

Professor Nick put some of the omelets to his plate and sat at the table. At that moment the telephone rang and Professor Nick went to answer it while Amanda eating her breakfast. 'Who was that Honey.' said Amanda. 'It was an old client, I told him that I am no longer work at Jarvis Genetics.' said Professor Nick. They sat at the table in the kitchen and ate their breakfast with a warm green tea. "Thank you, honey, it was delicious," said Professor Nick. It was still raining heavily outside. Professor Nick looked outside from the massive window in the kitchen and then He went to the living room and lied down on the couch. His legs were tired. He opened the TV. He was watching the morning news, " Hey Amanda come, let's watch the news together. We will watch some movie afterward" said Professor Nick, " Okay honey, I am coming in 5 minutes. I am cleaning the kitchen right now." said Amanda. Professor Nick stopped the news and waited for Amanda. Professor Nick made himself another bottle of green tea while waiting for his wife. Amanda finally came and sit next to Professor Nick. Lydia started to cry suddenly, they heard her voice from the living room. " Little Princes is finally awake," said Professor Nick smiling. " I should go check her Honey. She is probably really hungry or wet the bed," said Amanda weirdly. Amanda went upstairs to check Lydia. Amanda entered Lydia's room. She stopped crying immediately when she saw Amanda. " Why are you crying princess? Are you hungry? said Amanda. "Yes I am," said Lydia. Amanda changed Lydia's clothes and took her downstairs to eat. Amanda made her yogurt with pieces of soft fresh fruit. Lydia loved eating fruits. Her favorite fruit was the apple. " Thank you, mom," said Lydia. " Your welcome sweetie," said Amanda. Lydia went to his room to play with her toys. Amanda went to the living room to watch the news with her husband.
