Boscha had been hospitalized for a week or so.

She didn't remember exactly what had happened, but she already knew her parents were behind it. Her parents had a... way with things, a way which Boscha knew all too well.

Luckily, and somewhat surprisingly, nobody on the isles actually knew Boscha's last name. She wasn't particularly sure how to feel. She felt insulted because everybody knew her yet somehow did not know her full name, and yet relieved because it meant that they would not have the ability to track down her parents without her telling them. And of course, Boscha had no intention of her parents finding her anytime soon.

Since she refused to tell anybody her last name, and since she didn't want anybody to know where she was, she only had 3 frequent visitors. Those 3 were Luz, Amity, and Willow. Luz was understandably worried because her friend was hurt, but Amity and Willow weren't clear on what they should be feeling. They felt like Boscha might have deserved being hurt, but they both agreed that this was far worse than what they had in mind. They decided that for Luz's sake, they'd attempt friendship with Boscha, as she had seemed to actually change.

Boscha was, I suppose, a little too happy about Luz coming to see her every day. Luz never seemed to notice how unnecessarily happy Boscha was around her, but Amity and Willow definitely knew. They winked at her every time Luz wasn't looking. The first time the three had come in, they had been understandably alarmed, but to Boscha this was yet another mystery. She had tried to ask them what was wrong, but they refused to answer. Boscha, of course, knew it had something to do with the newly and permanently blind eye she now had. She had attempted to ask for a reflective surface, but the request was denied because they "couldn't risk her blood pressure rising from surprise", which Boscha thought was a really stupid reason.

It's not like she didn't know what was there, after all. She knew there was something, a word, carved across her face for all to see. She just didn't know which word it was specifically. It wasn't as if she really needed to know either, she knew that it was some insulting word, just another one for the collection that had been carved into her own body. The only difference is that she couldn't hide this one with clothing, or with anything for that matter. She was tired of this. They didn't approve of her when she came out, and when it finally felt like they did, they suddenly didn't again? She needed a break from all this thinking.

Luckily, that break was about to walk through the door. Luz was going to just ask Boscha a few questions like what happened and why her parents hadn't come to get her, when she noticed Boscha deep in thought, thinking out loud. Luz didn't want to interrupt, so she quietly sat down and listened. she couldn't make out much, but the words "crush" and "reject" seemed to come up a lot, along with a name she couldn't quite make out. She was certain it sounded like a name she knew, but she wasn't sure who's name it was. Why'd she even care who it was anyway? It's probably just because she's curious and that's all.

"uh-" Luz began, but Boscha screamed in both fear and embarrassment before she could get any further. Luz noticed that her ears, formerly up at a roughly 45 degree angle, were now pointing straight down. Luz blushed unconsciously, as a peculiar and perhaps embarrassing request came into her mind. "Okay, so like, this might sound weird..." Luz started, and Boscha mentally prepared herself for the worst possible question "...but, uh, canitouchyourears?" Boscha was stunned for a second, until the reality of the question set in, and she turned redder than she'd ever been in her life. She tried to speak, but the only word she could manage was "ʷʰᵃᵗˀ" She briefly turned away to compose herself. "Calm down Boscha, she doesn't know, She's not confessing her love to you or something..." As she muttered onward, Luz grew even more confused and maybe a bit embarrassed.

Author's note: a bit = the mass of the sun

Why would Boscha care if Luz was confessing her love(which she refuses to believe exist for the next 5 minutes) for her? It wasn't like Boscha had feelings that were on the same scale, right? She decided to ask again. "Sooooooo... can I?" She carefully whispered. Boscha had calmed down a bit, yet could barely manage a nod. "But only if i get to touch yours." Which Luz agreed was fair. Surprising for Luz, Boscha's skin was actually pretty smooth in comparison to her own. Luz was so busy thinking about that fact, that she hadn't noticed when Boscha began to purr. When she did notice, however, she was quick to point it out. "Aww, you're like a little kitty cat!" Luz declared in a voice of certainty. Boscha had no idea what she meant by that, though.

"How exactly am I like a cat?" She asked, because she had no idea what was going on. Luz pondered for just a moment. "Well, first of all, you purred like one. And second, you're just as cute as a cat." Upon hearing this, Boscha turned into a cherry. She could barely stutter out a sentence. Luz found this funny, and chuckled to herself. "Anyway, I gotta go to school. See you later, Boscha! And you have to get better or else I'll be mad at you. >:(" And so Boscha was left alone with her gay thoughts. She sat there for a second, processing what just happened. Then she began laughing hysterically. "oh my god, I couldn't keep myself together!" And she laughed even harder. After that honestly much-needed break from her bad thoughts, Boscha laid down and drifted off to sleep.
