Weeks turned into months and then two years with this eye-pleasing kid and his criminal group, I figured something out. Well more than before. This city is the most silent and independent town I have ever seen. The sounds you can hear are mostly people from other cities, towns and other places dumping their garbage or crows and ravens cawing.
The kid, a 5-year-old Chrollo, was originally not planning to take a baby in. Alas, when he met up with the unofficial Phantom Troupe, Pakunoda convinced him. She even checked this body's memories before they took me in. She expected, no- hoped to see a glimpse of the person responsible for leaving such a young infant behind. Hence not even a strand of hair showing up from my parents, they kept me. I also wasn't surprised or let down by having parents that abandoned me in this world. My parents are in my world and that won't ever change. The only regrets I have while being in this world are certainly the items or people I have left.
"I will be out for a bit, so watch her Phinks," Chrollo ordered while taking his leave. His leaving like this is really nothing new. He would leave me with a troupe member and go away from Meteor City. I do not doubt in my mind that he is out there stealing, there really is no choice other than to steal while we're here.
It's been a few hours and I have been playing with Phinks the browless big fellow. I have tried to talk to him for a few weeks now but to almost no prevail. He just doesn't understand me! I need something to play with other than a- well you know, A RAG! I am empathetic enough to understand that there really isn't a variety here but man there isn't anything? like at all?
Phinks isn't the best I suppose at looking after and playing with babies. after all, he did give me a rag he found beside him and sat staring at me. If u were wondering where he was sitting (you probably weren't), Phinks was sitting on a rock. I grumbled at where my death "What's your deal you wanna play or something? Use what I gave you." he raised an uh... well not a brow, considering he has none.
I stared at him as he was doing to me before and locked eyes with him. I held the rag in the air and pouted while trying to win his attention over. The only reaction I got from the rough troupe member was a scoff. What a jerk!
Come to think of it wasn't he a member after the troupe left Meteor City? I guess the manga and anime have changed a bit these few months since I've been in the Hunter x Hunter world. That thought terrifies me to no end. What if somehow the exams change in the hunter exam? I would have literally no idea what would happen. I could change the plotline if I meddle with it too much. So far, I have caused a big difference in the storyline! I could be another one of Hisoka's pitiful victims... uh oh.
My body started to cry out infantile whines loudly. It brought pain to my young ears which then caused me to sob louder, more ferociously. My arms flailed around and my feet stomped on the rag beneath me. A noisy roar came from my stomach. When did I last eat? yesterday? Okay, so that's not so bad. Brow's glanced at me and snarled a, "what!"
With my teary eyes, my chubby and petite hands tugged on his tracksuit-like outfit and mumbled under my breath, "Bo-" not exactly what I was trying to say but you know whatever works. Close to what I was calling him though, Brows. It is quite an accomplishment for a 7-month-old.
The training I mentioned before was me trying to crawl or talk. So I was fairly impressed with myself for saying that single syllable word. Who knew I would be so proud of myself for (ALMOST) saying a word? The entirety of being in a new world isn't really expected though so... Well not much to do except keep at it I suppose.
My stomach heaved repeatedly up and down as I try and calm my unstable breathing. My heart rate increased so much while I was in my infantile hysteric it felt as if everyone in their homes could hear it. I practiced inhaling and exhaling, ya' know, breathing as one does. Doing so I could feel my heart rate going down to a regular 90 I believe. After 20 long and exaggerated minutes, I have calmed down. I brought my legs down and laid on the dirt.
Phinks sighed and looked around. What is he doing? He went up from his seat and glanced around, He looks like he's searching for something. I looked around as well in hopes of finding someone or something that would interest him in some way. Not that I know much about his character though. "Bo?" I sound out while trying to reach my tiny hands over to him.
He sighed and sat back down in what seems like- defeat? Huh? He picked up a soft cloth he found on the ground and put it over my belly, since I was tiny it worked like a blanket. I grabbed the other rag and tossed it up away from me involuntarily. "Ga!" A wave of sadness washed over me in an instant. Tears welled up in my eyes for the second time today and I rolled over in an attempt to take back my 'toy'. However, Phinks took notice of me and stared me down. He moved his eyes from me to my rage multiple times before he snatched the old rag and threw it on my face.
Uh, thanks? His being suddenly kind is really weird to me. In the anime and the manga, he did help Shizuku though so it isn't like he was being out of character. Changing any of the antagonists would really make a mess of the plot.
I took a step out of my thoughts and began to entertain myself with the rag by throwing it in the air and catching it again. However, I was stopped by my attention being grabbed by a voice. I'm really glad it was a voice I recognized, not like the people who live here are talkers. His voice is much squeakier and cuter than when he was in the anime. It being so makes sense because he is 5.
