After the fourth, I had to go home as usual. Things went normal, I got up at 6:30 every morning, got ready, did school, cleaned the kitchen, and went to bed. That is, things WERE normal, until Friday night.

I was on my bed, reading, when Izzy came upstairs. "Dad says you need to come outside with the rest of us," she said. I closed my book and groaned. "Tell him I'll be out," I said, but she still didn't leave. "Go on, I'll be outside in a few minutes," I said as I gently pushed her out of the room. "No! I will stay here until you leave." She informed me. "Um, no, you will not." I said and smiled as I bent down to look her in the eyes. "You will go outside, I will stay here an finish my chapter, and then I will follow you. Ok?"

Izzy left and I went back to my chapter. "Its almost finished anyway, whats a few more minutes?" I asked myself. Not even two minutes passed, and I was closing my book for the second time when I heard the door in the kitchen downstairs open and close. "Shey!" I heard Aaron yell from the bottom of the stairs. I opened the door and walked to the stairs. "Yes?" I asked as I started to walk down. "Why arent you outside?" He demanded. "I was finishing a chapter in my book," I said, and stepped onto the main level next to him.

"Did you ask if you could finish the chapter?" was next. "No, but I couldn't." I replied. Aaron crossed his arms and leaned on the doorframe. "And why couldn't you?" I walked down the hall and into the living room with him following close behind. "Because both you and Mom were out by the firepit and my five-year-old sister told me to go outside because you said so." I said as I entered the kitchen. "Fine, whatever. Next time open your window and ask first." He said.

"Ok," I said as I grabbed a cup down from the shelf. "Water." I said when I saw that Aaron was still there and staring at me. He nodded and left the room. After drinking the whole glass, I noticed another of my books on the counter. I picked it up, and went out the door to sit in one of the chairs and read by the fire which was already blazing.

Tasha was on her phone, and Aaron came back outside. "Put the book away," he said. I sighed and set it on a log that was next to my chair. I sat and stared at the fire for a while, when Aaron spoke again.

"Why don't you play?" He asked. "Because non of the toys are for people my age," I replied not taking my eyes from the flames. "Play with your siblings then, they love playing with you." He said. "Can't you just leave me alone to think please? I came out here, I am present, I don't feel like talking or playing with anyone right now." I said tearing my eyes away from the fire to look him in the face.

"I can't leave you alone, your my daughter, its my job." He said. "No, its not your job, thank you very much. I don't want to play with my siblings, they are to young an wont do thee things I like doing." I said, my eyes narrowing as I tried to keep my cool. "Then do what they want to do. Simple." Aaron replied as he blew a cloud of smoke upwards to mix with the smoke from the fire.

"I don't like doing what they like doing." I said. "I dont care," He looked at me. "You never play with them, you need to." I stood up. "I never play with them, huh? Then what exactly do you think I do every morning from eight to ten with them in the basement? When you are gone at work and Mom is upstairs on the phones? Painting my nails? I do play with them. I don't want to right now, why don't you play with them? Why must I be the one to entertain them all the time?" I said.

Aaron looked at me before leaning over. "You need to play with them to build your relationship with them," He said without breaking eye contact. I stayed silent. "o you want to be like me and my sisters, where we all hate each other, and I only talk to one of them because she is the only one who isnt a bitch, or do you want to be like your Mom and her sisters, where you get together every few months, plan dinners with each other, and you all love each other?" He asked. Without thinking, I pointed towards him, an he quickly stoo up.

"Then you can leave. I don't have room for people in my house who dont wish to be a part of my family. I thought we could overlook your absence ass you just being a moody teen, but obviously not. Go pack your bags, now. Get the hell out of my house. I will call your Dad and tell him to come get you." He practically yelled, trying to control his anger. "And if he cant pick me up tonight?" I said trying to keep my voice steady. "Then I will call the cops and tell them you cant stay here." He said firmly.

A million thoughts rushed into my head at that moment. What would happen to my sisters when I was gone? Why had I been so hasty to pick Aaron before actually thinking? I had always wanted to leave this house and family, an now that I finally had the chance, why wasnt I happy to leave? Who would they yell at since they couldn't yell at me anymore?

Visions of them yelling at my little sisters and brothers and forcing them to do everything around the house even though they were way to young flashed before my eyes. My whole body froze as I tried to process what had just happened. I tried to speak but no words came. I stared at my mother who was stirring the fire, tears in my eyes.

"Mom?" I said quietly, still shocked. "I dont understand what you want me to ddo, you cant really expect me to defend you, can you? After all you have done?" Tears silently ran down my face, ass I turned and slowly walked away.  After I had packed all of my clothes into one suitcase, books in another, and all of my pillows and blankets were in a pile, Aaron knocked on the door. "Your Dad is almost here, are you ready?" he said. "Yes." I said, as I sat down on a chair in the schoolroom.

Thirty minutes later I was in the car with my Dad and Kansas. As soon as we pulled into thee driveway, I jumped out and ran inside to find both ALex an Riley at the top of the stairs. Riley practically jumped down the stairs, Alex close behind. After I hugged them both, we got my stuff and put it in my room that was downstairs in the basement across from my Dads.

"I just got kicked out," I messaged Grace.     "What happened?" She asked. I told her the story, leaving out the fact that I had cried.
"I- uh- wow." she said when I finished. "Yeah, I'll be back, I need some water." I said and left my phone on the charger. When I came back, I noticed Grace deep in a conversation with James, again.

"Will he ever shut up about her?" Maria commented as she sat next to me. "Hmmm, what do you mean?" I asked as I took a drink. "Well, first, he wouldnt shut up about you, and now he stopped talking about you and wont shut up about Grace." She said as she crossed her arms. I laughed. "He wouldnt shut up about me, huh?" Maria shook her head. "No, it was always Shey this, Shey that, Shey said this, Shey did that this morning, and all of a sudden its Grace this, Grace that."  She said.

"Its James, Maria, nothing makes sense."  I said, and yawned. "Hey, can you please turn the light off?" I asked. After the room was dark save the light from my phone, I put my head on my pillow and looked at James. "Just turn it off when your done talking?" I said, and he nodded. "Oh, an Maria, make sure he does?" I told her. "Of course, goodnight Shey!" was the reply I heard just as I fell asleep.
