Claimed or Unclaimed?

A loud horn blared. Connor and Travis had told you that when you heard it, you had to head to the dining pavilion for dinner, where you were going to be claimed.
You wiped the remaining tears off your eyes, and slowly got up. You walked back towards the middle of the valley, where you saw the pavilion earlier.
You wondered who your godly parent was. You hoped that it would be somebody that you liked.
Connor spotted you, and waved you over to the Hermes table.
"So," he said, attempting to start conversation. "Who do you think your parent might be?"
You shrugged.
"I'm not very sure," you said quietly.
This time, Connor shrugged. "Food's here," he announced.
You looked at your plate, which had magically filled with food. (Favourite food 1), (favourite food 2), and (favourite food 3). Delicious.
Beforehand you could dive in, Connor grabbed you wrist, and shook his head.
"We have to burn a portion of our food to the gods before we eat," he explained.
You nodded, realizing that other campers were heading to the campfire. You followed suit.
When it was your turn, you scraped a huge portion of (favourite food 1) into the burning flames. Please, you silently prayed. Tell me who you are.
As you were leaving, you caught a whiff of the flames. If smelled so good...no wonder the gods wanted them to sacrifice food for them. The smell alone could fill your stomach.
You slowly walked back to your temporary table. You hadn't realized somebody was beside you until Leo spoke.
"What was that about?" He asked quizzically.
You jumped slightly, then swiftly whispered, "What?"
Leo raised an eyebrow. "You know...when you were out in the woods crying your eyes out."
"Oh."
You were glad it was starting to get dark, because you were sure there was a blush on your face. You turned your face away from Leo, then said, "It's just really hard to comprehend. You know, with all this stuff about the gods...and I feel really bad for leaving my (mom/dad) back at (hometown)..." You slowly trailed off. Tears were in the corners of your eyes again, and you had reached the Hermes table.
When you looked at Leo again, he raised his eyebrows.
"You live in (hometown)?"
You quietly nodded.
"Hey," Leo said. "It's okay. We've all been through the stress of first night. It'll be alright in the morning." And then, he whisked himself away to the...you sighed, because you didn't even know which cabin Leo was from.
All the campers started to eat. You did the same, while Mr. D, Dionysus, as Chiron told you, started talking about some thing or another. Then,
"We have another camper here." Your head snapped up from your plate. "(Wrong/N) (Wrong/L/N)." Dionysus continued.
Chiron leaned towards Dionysus and whispered something.
"Err, (Y/N) (L/N)," Dionysus corrected. "Yes, yes, she will be claimed, tonight, blah, blah, blah. Now, eat!" And he sat back down in his chair.
You looked over at Connor. "Is he always like this?" You whisper.
Connor just grinned. "Most of the time."
After everybody had finished their dinner, they all started to file in towards the campfire. You found yourself sitting in between Katie and Connor. Across from you, Leo sat tinkering with some metal tools. The firelight made his eyes look like they actually had flames in them...or did they actually? You wondered why this didn't surprise you. Maybe demigods were always used to so many odd things, they couldn't be surprised.
Leo looked up from his tools and caught you looking at him. You quickly averted your gaze, but not before you saw him give you a small wink. Your cheeks heated up. For what reason, you didn't know.
Then, Chiron asked you to stand up and walk in front of the campfire. Everybody waited silently.
After so long, still nothing happened. You stared fidgeting a little. Why didn't somebody--somegod, whatever--claim you already? Maybe you WEREN'T a demigod. You started sweating in anxiety.
You looked around, and caught Leo's eyes again.
He looked like he knew what was wrong straight away. It's okay, he mouthed. Just wait.
After waiting in silence for a couple of more minutes, still nothing had happened. Campers had started to quietly whisper among themselves. You started to panic. Putting your head in your hands, you looked up at the sky.
"JUST CLAIM ME ALREADY!" You screamed.
And that's when it started.

A golden circle of light appeared in the clouds. Many campers yelped and covered their eyes. But you were looking straight at the light. Something way falling through it. It came down faster and faster, and you realized it was...a girl.
"It's a person!" You cried out. People glance up and started to point.
The girl tumbled through the air and softly landed on the ground next to the campfire. How she landed so softly after such a long fall, you didn't know. But you rushed over to her anyways.
She had short bright red hair and a splash of freckles across her cheeks.
"Rachel!" You heard Annabeth gasp. She ran over to the redhead.
The girl, Rachel, apparently, sat up groggily. She looked around and looked as if she was trying to comprehend what was happening.
Annabeth's reached Rachel's side.
"Rachel," she said. "What just happened? You just dropped out of the sky and...why are you here?"
Rachel looked around again, and this time, she seemed to know what had happened. She softly cleared her throat.
"Um, Annabeth," she began. "I don't know why I dropped out of the sky. But I do know why I did. Hera sent me here."
Annabeth scrunched up her nose. "Hera? Why?"
Rachel took a deep breath.
"I have to--I have to deliver a prophecy."
