hey friends! i've attached a picture above of how i imagine the characters (with cedric as robert pattinson ofc) if anyone wanted a visual!
A short knock comes from the front door as I sit on the porch reading the book I borrowed from the party a week or so ago. I skeptically stand, crossing to the door and standing on my toes to look through the peephole, but before I can see who is on the other side, a group of three boys bursts into the room. I recognize them as Cedric's friends from school, Noah Thomas, Jack Williams, and Leo Jones.
"Look at this place!" Noah, the tallest and most vulgar one, immediately makes himself at home on the couch, propping his dress shoes up on the coffee table and nearly knocking over the glass vase.
Leo, the bookish brunette, wanders across the room, pulling open the curtains to reveal the large wall of windows, admiring the view of the city.
"Hey, you can see the Seine from here!" he says, pointing out the window to the riverbank.
Jack, the blonde and friendliest of the group, takes his messenger bag from his shoulder and sets it on the ground, pulling me into a hug before I'm even able to process their unexpected presence.
"Ava! So good to see you!" he cheers.
"You too..." I reply hesitantly. "What are you guys doing here?"
"Cedric invited us," Noah replies, not even caring to look up from a magazine he's picked up from the table, flipping through it absentmindedly.
"Did he now?" I ask under my breath. "Well, make yourselves at home, I suppose."
Jack smiles and crosses to stand next to Leo as I storm towards the bathroom where Cedric is just coming out to see the source of the commotion, his toothbrush hanging from his mouth. I shove him back into the room, shutting the door behind us and staring up at him accusingly.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" he asks, utterly clueless.
"Care to tell me why there's three boys wandering about the flat saying you invited them?" I ask.
"No way! They came?" he smiles, pulling his toothbrush from his mouth, a look of excitement spreading across his face.
"You invited them?" I ask, dumbfounded he didn't even bring up the idea to me first.
"Well Jack and I have been writing a little and they've all been staying with him so I just threw the idea out there," he explains, surprised I'm so upset about it.
"Look, I don't mind that they're here, it just would've been nice to know," I complain as he inches his way out of the room, clearly wanting to see his friends.
"Yeah, totally, won't ever happen again..." he nods unconvincingly, making his way out of the bathroom.
I groan in frustration as he slips from the room entirely and his joyous welcomes echo through the flat. Composing myself, I give up on my reservations of having four teenage boys in the flat at once, knowing it's useless, and leave the bathroom to join in the reunion.
"You were expecting us, right?" Jack asks, worried he's intruding as I glare at the four of them, leaning against the wall by the bathroom.
"Of course! I'm so glad you guys could make it," Cedric smiles.
"I told you we should've made sure," Leo chimes in quietly.
"Seriously guys, it's no problem!" Cedric assures them.
"Of course it isn't, we're bros. Su casa es nuestro casa, isn't that right Diggory?" Noah says, standing from the couch and patting Cedric on the back. His cockiness and entitlement have always gotten under my skin and I'm not convinced I could spend more than a few days with him before I rip his head off.
