The next morning, I woke up to see the snow leopard standing over me with a small plate of fruit. Namely slices of peach, apple, banana and some strawberries and raspberries. I slowly sat up and took the plate.

"How did you sleep?" the snow leopard asked. I took a bite of a slice of apple before I replied.

"Very nice actually. Super comfy and warm. I never did get your name." I replied and she smiled.

"My name is Tarra. I know you're called Ethan. Sevlar told me to watch over you for the next few weeks. Who knows how long you were adrift on that raft." she said as she placed a hand on my leg. I reached over to her before slowly drawing my hand back. Tarra seemed to understand what my intention was and moved her head under my hand. She gave me a little nod and I began to stroke her fur, which was extremely soft and fluffy. I heard her begin to make a purring sound and I smiled and stroked down her back. After a while, a coyote girl came walking in.

As soon as she saw me, she squealed excitedly and ran at me

As soon as she saw me, she squealed excitedly and ran at me. I was helpless to do anything as she slung me over her shoulder and carried me out, my head bouncing against her back . I was panicking a little and I pushed against her back. Just then I heard Sevlar and looked behind me over the turtle's shoulder to see him standing there with his arms folded.

"Darya you know that Ethan isn't used to this. He's only been around a day or two. Please put him down." he said sternly.

"But Sevlar, he's so CUUUTE!" the coyote girl protested as she held me over her shoulder. I began tapping on her back, trying to signify I wasn't feeling ok. Sevlar sighed.

"Fine you can have him. But for ONE day, and NO attempting to mate with him!" he said and the fox girl happily ran off with me, despite me pushing against her back. She plopped me down near a stream and started asking me random questions.

"How old are you? Do you like strawberries? What's your favourite music? Can you swim?" were just a few of the random questions this girl asked me. My head was spinning and I could not think. I fell backwards into the nearby stream, blacking out. I heard a scream and felt myself being picked up. I woke up to find myself back in the hut with bandages on my torso and Sevlar watching over me with concern in his eyes. I had to admit, his blue eyes were something that really were beautiful. When he saw I was awake, he helped me up.

"We found you drifting downstream during our berry picking time. You've suffered a few cuts and scrapes due to the rocks in the water. What happened?" he asked in concern and I told him everything.

"Dunno why but my head just spun and I felt dizzy. None of this is that Darya girl's fault by the way, I think it's just something happening because I haven't eaten or drank in weeks." I explained. Sevlar sighed in worry and placed a hand on my shoulder.

"I think you need more of the soup and a lot of rest." he said before he planted a quick kiss on my forehead. Tarra walked in with the purple soup. Despite how bad it smelt, the effect was worth it. I ate the entire bowl of soup and laid back on the cushions. Sevlar sat nearby me and stayed close. I have to admit, I was very grateful for his help, and the help this village had given me so far. I really loved this new home. But every time I looked at Sevlar...something felt different. Like...I was in love. I tried to shake the thoughts and fell asleep. But my dreams were plagued by Sevlar and his kindness. One dream was him helping me down from a tree after I'd gotten stuck. Another one was him teaching me about weapons. And the weirdest one was when he and I were actually laid in the same bed together with his arms around my torso and his body pressing against my back. I just tried to sleep but my mind kept rushing to Sevlar. I needed to talk about it with him as soon as I was healed.
