NINE — the wild boys

LATER THAT NIGHT, the cobras all met up at the beach after the dinner, to drink some beers and smoke a bit. while the guys talked about some girls that they saw at the club, johnny remained quiet and just drank his beer. he had been thinking about bella all night. the only thing that was on his mind was the way bella looked tonight. the way her hair was up in a bun, the way her black velvet dress highlighted her curves, and the way her smile lit up the room.
"earth to johnny." dutch laughed as he threw a bottle cap at johnny, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"what the hell, man?" johnny said as he threw the bottle cap back to dutch. "what was that for?"
"you've been quiet the entire time." tommy said. "you still thinking about ali?"
"nah, she hates me." johnny sighed.
"he's probably thinking about that brunette. the one from golf n' stuff." jimmy said as he reached over to get another beer. "he was checking her out all night."
"oh shit, you have a thing for bella, don't you?" dutch laughed. "to tell you the truth, she's kinda hot."
"i don't have a thing for bella." johnny said. "we just happen to know each other because of ali."
"you don't think we saw how you looked at her?" bobby laughed as he took a swig of his beer. "you basically fucked her with your eyes from the moment she walked in. you're hot for bella."
"yeah she's hot, but she's not my type." johnny said. of course, he lied right through his teeth. he felt some sort of infatuation towards bella, but couldn't admit it. he didn't know what or how to feel due to the fact that bella was his ex's best friend. he knew that bella couldn't do that to ali and he also knew that she wouldn't date him after she saw his relationship with ali.
"of course she's your type, she's hot." jimmy said. "give it a try, maybe you'll change your mind."

the next day, bella laid in the sand, sunbathing with chrissy on her side, as they enjoyed the beach. summertime was almost over and bella spent every moment at the beach. bella closed her eyes and relaxed as chrissy applied sunscreen on her arms and legs.
"i hate sunscreen." chrissy scoffed. "i hate how it gets everywhere."
"would you rather it get everywhere or have a really bad sunburn?" bella laughed. "if you get a sunburn, you'll look like a tomato for days, just saying."
"haha." chrissy said as she rolled her eyes. "i'm still bummed out ali couldn't come with us."
"why isn't she here?" susan said as she sat up. "she's always here."
"she said something about sat prep." bella said. "you know how she is when it comes to that."
"well it's a good thing she didn't come." barbara said.
"why?" bella said. "i actually miss her being here."
"that's why." chrissy said as she pointed to the parking lot near the sand. bella turned as she saw the group of cobra kais arrive in their bikes. bella rolled her eyes and put her glasses back on. she laid back in the sand as she heard masculine voices get closer to the girls.
"hello ladies, hope we're not interrupting anything." bobby smiled as he and the other boys sat down on the sand.
"yeah, you are." chrissy said. "the peace and quiet."
"it's a good thing we're here then." tommy laughed as he got a beer out of a backpack. he passed the backpack of beers around as they all grabbed one. bella continued to take in the sun, as a tall figure approached her and laid down in the sand next to her.
"i figured you didn't drink, so i brought you something else." johnny said as he handed bella a can of cherry coke. bella sat up and smiled as she opened the can.
"i actually do drink, but this is better than liquor." bella said as she took a sip from the can. it was an ice cold cherry coke, just the way she liked it. johnny smiled as he opened the can of beer that he held in his hand. "cheers."
"i really meant what i said, back at the country club." johnny said. "you did look really beautiful."
"you meant that?" bella smiled as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "or was it the dress? i know you were drooling all over me."
"i meant it." johnny said. "i'm not gonna deny that i wasn't staring at your ass, but that's besides the point."
"ah, there he is." bella laughed. "thank you though, you looked pretty handsome yourself."
"so you were checking me out too?" johnny smirked as he took another sip from his beer can. "i knew it."
"oh please, you know you looked good." bella laughed. she continued to drink her cherry coke as there was a silence between the two, until chrissy broke the silence.
"c'mon you two! we're playing volleyball." chrissy said as the guys set up the volleyball net.
"you play volleyball?" johnny said as he got up and helped bella get up from the sand.
"of course." bella smirked as she took off the overalls she was wearing, leaving her in her bathing suit. "get ready to eat my dust, lawrence."
"now, don't get too cocky." johnny said as he removed his shoes as well as the t-shirt he was wearing, revealing his toned figure. bella tried not to stare, but she couldn't help it. the only thing bella could focus on was the boy in front of her and his muscular figure. his torso, his v-line, his six-pack, his biceps ..
"bella, you're on my team." chrissy said, snapping bella out of her thoughts. bella then joined chrissy on her side of the net as she got ready to play. "ready? let's go."
as bella, chrissy, and the whole group began to play volleyball, it didn't stop johnny and bella from constantly making eye contact and flirting with each other. as jimmy hit the ball over the net, bella jumped up and quickly spiked it, earning a point for the girls.
"nice spike, princess." johnny said over the net. "you're still gonna loose."
"oh yeah?" bella smirked as their faces were close together. "eat my dust, lawrence."
