SEVENTEEN — it's tricky

IT WAS ALMOST MIDNIGHT and the party was just getting started. the music blared through the speakers as crowds of people danced and enjoyed the ambiance. as custom, every weekend, there was a party up in the hills and of course, the new couple had to be there. however, to avoid any suspicions about their relationship, bella went with chrissy and ali, while johnny arrived with the cobra kais.
after dancing for a while, bella went to get a drink from the cooler. she pulled out the bottle of liquor and grabbed a cup. as she was about to open it, she saw her boyfriend walk towards her.
"let me get that for you." johnny smirked as he opened up the bottle and poured the drink into her cup. she smiled as she pecked his cheek.
"why, thank you." bella smiled as she took a sip from her cup. johnny grabbed a cup and poured himself a drink as well. he wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she leaned in and kissed him. "i missed you."
"so did i, babe." johnny smiled as he pecked bella's lips. she intertwined her hand with his as she placed her head on his shoulder. bella pulled away from him when she saw tommy come over and grab a drink. she took a sip from her cup as she saw chrissy and ali approach the cooler as well.
"let's go dance!" ali smiled. "there's some really cute guys and they asked for you."
bella looked over at johnny who had tensed up. he tried hard not to show it, but he was obviously getting jealous.
"i'm okay." bella smiled. "i'll stay here, finishing up my drink."
"c'mon! it'll be fun." chrissy said as she played along.
"i'm good! you two go have fun." bella smiled. "i'm pretty tired myself."
ali went back to where the crowd of people dancing were, but chrissy stayed behind to get a drink. "how are you two playing this so well?" chrissy said as she grabbed a wine cooler from the ice chest.
"we're trying out best." bella sighed. "maybe it's the alcohol kicking in, but i just wanna hug him, dance with him, and make out with him without being worried about anyone catching us."
"i'll make it easier for you." chrissy said as she took a sip of her drink. "i'll distract ali, the guys are probably too drunk to reason, so you two go have some fun."
chrissy finished up her drink and placed the bottle to the side. as the guys left to go dance and hook up with girls, johnny walked over to where chrissy and bella were and immediately wrapped an arm around bella's waist.
"what'd ali say about some guys asking for bella?" johnny said as he finished his drink and threw the cup to the side.
"some guys were eyeing bella, so if i were you, i would take her out to dance before another guy does." chrissy said. "i'll take care of ali and the guys, you two go have fun."
"you heard her." bella smirked as she intertwined her hands with johnny's and dragged him into the crowd. "let's go have fun."
as the couple walked into the crowd, johnny pulled bella into this embrace and held her close to him. they swayed to the rhythm of the music as she placed her head on his shoulder. his hands trailed down below her waist as she giggled and playfully smacked his arm. she looked up at him and kissed him passionately.
the music continued to play as bella and johnny sat outside in a secluded area. she wasn't a big drinker but tonight she let herself go. she sat in a little garden area with johnny, as he drank a beer.
"we actually danced and kissed without getting caught." bella smiled as she placed her head on johnny's shoulder and played with his hands. "not bad for our first party as a couple."
"well, with the guys getting wasted and ali distracted, i think we're good for tonight." johnny smiled as he caressed bella's cheek. "i heard you tell chrissy how much you wanted to make out with me."
"you don't listen to a word i say about english, yet you hear that?" bella laughed. "maybe i do."
johnny stood up and pulled bella out of the little bench where she was sitting and took her back inside of the party, but took her upstairs. bella giggled as johnny looked for an empty room and once he found one, he dragged her inside.
he sat on the bed as he placed his lips onto bella's. she groaned into the kiss as he pulled her into his lap. she giggled as her boyfriend trailed kissed down her neck. the couple was in the heat of the moment, when someone walked in, they didn't think much of it until the lights were turned on. once they turned to see who it was, they found bobby standing at the doorway with a girl.
"oh shit, i knew it." bobby laughed as he stood at the doorway. "i'm sorry. you two can continue sucking each other's faces off."
bella quickly got off of johnny's lap as they both ran downstairs, hoping that bobby wouldn't say anything. they knew that once they were seen together, the secret would be out.

"i fucking knew that you were hooking up." dutch laughed as he sat down. "i saw that kiss at the party two weeks ago."
"hooking up?" barbara said. "you two haven't, like, done it right? or is that what you two were about to do?"
"you wanna tell them? or do i tell them?" johnny said as he looked over to bella as she sat in the front seat of johnny's red convertible.
"i got it." bella sighed as she ran a hand through her hair. "after the night of the party, two weeks ago, we became a couple. we met up at the beach and that's where he asked me to be his girlfriend, we just kept it on the low. we've been together for two, going on three weeks. to answer your question barbara, no we haven't done it and we weren't about to do it."
"not until she's ready." johnny said as he grabbed bella's hand. "i respect her and i'll protect her with my life because she's my princess."
"ali, i know i shouldn't have and i hope you can forgive me." bella sighed as she looked at ali, who was trying to process what had just happened.
"don't worry about it, besides, i'm happy with daniel and i'm happy you've moved on." ali softly smiled. "you hurt her and i'll kick your ass. you better take good care of her."
"you don't know how much of a relief this is." chrissy sighed. "i couldn't take it much longer."
"wait, you knew about them?" jimmy said as he wrapped his arm around susan. "and you didn't say shit?"
"they made me keep quiet." chrissy said as she turned to bella and johnny, who sat in the car ready to leave. "you two owe me, big time."
