Chapter 23

Bryce POV:

After I told Tayler, we would both benefit from answers. He allowed me to sit down and grabbed me a glass of water. I knew both of us were shocked by my actions and the person I want to be for my family. I have to own up that Tayler was there for Addison and the twins while I was in hiding. But, I know he knows a lot of what Addison felt like, what she thought, how she responded. And I needed to know everything to move forward.

B: So, I appreciate you sitting down with me. 

T: No, ya. I want to actually apologize for showing up to the twin's party and starting drama. You can imagine how much it hurt not to be invited to their party. When I've been in their lives before they were born, I felt like I was just all the way cut out.

B: Tayler, we would have never cut you out of their life if you never showed up to the house drunk and disrespected Addison. Yes, they are babies, but they pick up on the behavior, and we didn't want them to pick up on that behavior. 

T: No, yeah, I get that, but Bryce, you would be bad too. I went from living in the house being apart of the twin's life to be kicked to the curb automatically without any warning. 

B: No, yeah. But, when I came into their lives, my goal wasn't to get Addison back Tayler. My primary goal was to step up and be a father, and of course, I loved Addison, and I wanted her back at some point. But, I wanted to be the dad that I couldn't be. The dad I never was. And as a man, you could only imagine how it feels to know another man was there for your kids when you couldn't. And was even there for the women you ever loved.

T: I am going, being honest with you, Bryce. Yes, I took care of Addison, but not in the way you were thinking. Damn near her whole pregnancy. She was miserable. She cried for you, and every time she called, she would ask, "Where is he? and why won't he come back?" There was a period of time where she stopped eating altogether. I had to force her to eat, and every time she saw the twins at a doctor's appointment, she cried more because she knew you were supposed to be where I was sitting. After the twins, she went into a major depressive state. She'd tend to the twins but sleep when they didn't need her. 

B: Then what happened?

T: One day, when her mom had the twins, I walked into her room to try to get her to go out. I walked into her room and seen glass broken, and it wasn't a little it was a lot. All of the picture frames she had of you guys were broken. You could tell she threw them at the wall. She was in bed curled up. This was really the first time I ever got in bed with her. I cuddled her into my arms, and she began to yell cry. What I remember her most saying "How could he leave when I needed him most" then she said, "I guess he never loved me at all" I stayed with Addison until she fell asleep. After that incident, I would sleep in her room whenever she felt like that until she eventually got better. 

B: So you really became her support system, not just with the twins, but

T: With her mental health ya. But, after the first year of the twin's life, Addison told me I could go. She didn't want me to get comfortable because she knew one day you would come back, and I would be hurt. But, of course, I didn't listen. I stayed, and I did get hurt when I saw you at Boa. I knew from the minute you stepped into LA and knew about those twins you would step up. Because believe it or not, you are the good guy Bryce. You may not always make the right decisions, but you step up and do the right thing when it is important. The night of Boa, I told her I caught feelings for her. And you know what she told me?

B: What

T: "You shouldn't have, and I should have never kissed you because you know my rule was to not date because of the way things ended with Bryce" Even when you left, she was loyal to you. Although I was mad, I knew you would fall back into love organically. It's the way you two are programmed. Your hearts beat for each other, and although it started just for the kids, it turned into a family. Addison got everything she ever wanted. And I had only to sit back and watch. But I hear you've been amazing at the boyfriend and father thing.
