Ring! The bell rang and all students quieted down.
"Alright class, today in English class we will be writing short love poems to ourselves. After twenty minutes we will all share. Now is your time to begin." Ms. Forest walked away from the whiteboard and sat at her desk to work at her computer.
I looked at Luna and Dylan and smiled. I loved poems. It is such little words, but so much meaning. It's the time to express yourself through big words. They rolled their eyes knowing exactly what I was thinking. I began to write:
Aria
Forever we will be
joined as one
your dark brown hair, a pulse through your soul
your hazel eyes, love through the nightYou leave my body
you move my soul.I liked it, but I didn't love it, so I started over:
Aria
My dearest Aria
true as your heart, twist
like a scarlet storm
forever through lifeI watch the glistening stars, waiting for your love,
bound, joined, to never protest
joined, joined, to never be deceived
my heart, my AriaI sighed. It just didn't feel right.
"I'm sure your poem is fine, Aria. Wanna hear mine?" I nodded my head and he began. "Ode to Dylan. So I promise through space and time, my Dylan a flower, a starlight, your kiss
a shell, a garden, your passion be conquered, in an instant. I gaze upon your golden smile, for we are joined, joined, to never run away, joined together, I offer you through space and time, my Dylan.""I love it!"
"Ooh, my turn," Luna said, turning to us. "My dearest Luna, tick, tock, a moment, a soul as the heartbeats through space and time. I say a prayer for your kiss, your lips, a kiss through the night joined, joined, to never sob my body, my Luna." Me and Dylan laughed knowing this whole thing was kind of cringe.
I then wrote my poem again:
Aria
And I pledge we will be
joined together, I bequeath to you
connected together, I offer you
for always, my AriaI loved it. A few minutes later Chase and Alexandria were giggling with each other.
"Stop! You're so cute." Alexandria said cutely.
"No, you. Let me see your poem already." He smiled at her.
Lucy was not having it. She got up and went over to approach Alexandria.
"Yeah, this is cute, but me and him are cuter. And let's make something clear, you will never be me. I took a poll on my Instagram earlier and everyone also said they ship me and him. Watch your back, your toxic personality is showing." She then walked right back to her desk.
Our mouths dropped and the whole class was silent. You could tell Chase was so uncomfortable in the situation, not knowing what to say.
"You're pathetic, Lucy. I saw that poll and nobody that said yes was from our school. You had your chance. Cry. Me. A. River. I could care less about you and your problems. Maybe that makes me toxic, but it's ok, I guess he likes that. Right?" She laughed and then continued working on her poem. We were all still so shook and it all happened so fast.
"Alright class, back to your work." Ms.Forest said.
Some kids continued, others just whispered to their neighbors.
"Oh. My. God." Dylan chuckled.
"And... send. The whole video is up on my page. The whole school knows now." Luna bit her lip and smirked.
