Aren't they cute? Now let's start the story!
Today's a special day. A day for couples to spend together, express their love and have fun.
An especially popular date spot was the White Rose café. That's where among the many couples a lonely figure sat in the corner, sticking out like a sore thumb.
Poland looked at the clock. Thirty minutes. His date was over half an hour late. He sighed and shifted in his seat, being uncomfortable. It didn't help that the couple on the next table was looking at him with pity. The waitress too. She had already come to his table 3 times, and each time Poland said:
"Just a few more minutes, he should be here any moment!"
He never came.
What did Poland expect, anyways? He shouldn't have gotten his hopes up in the first place.
Flashback, Friday after school
Poland was so glad the school day was over. He opened his locker to put his books away. He wanted to be home already, cuddle his cat and binge watch some show.
But apparently the universe had other plans for him.
"Hey, Poland?" he heard someone say.
He turned around and looked at the guy standing in front of him, almost immediately recognizing him. Jackson, from his class.
"What is it?", he asked.
Jackson inhaled.
"Go on a date with me on Valentine's Day?", he blurted out in one go.
