Germany was sitting at his desk. He was working. Again. Every single night, he worked for hours without taking a break. And if it wasn't for his boyfriend Poland he would work the entire night.

The clock showed 00:17. Others were probably asleep for hours, but not the German. He was just getting started with the work. He planned to stay up the whole night this time.

Poland wasn't having it though.

The Polish boy laid in the bed he shared with Germany. He looked at the time, sighed and got up. He walked over to Germany's office. Poland carefully opened the door and looked inside. His boyfriend was still sitting in front of his computer and typing. Occasionally he looked at the papers scattered all over his desk. A cup of coffee stood next to him.

Poland sighed again and went to Germany's desk. He wrapped his arms around the German.

"Niemcy...."

Before he could continue, Germany roughly shoved him away. Poland stumbled backwards. He was shocked. Germany always snapped at Poland whenever he tried to get him to go to bed, but he never laid a finger on him. Poland was confused and a little scared.

"Niemcy?"

"Shut up."

Poland sighed. He slowly placed his hand on Germany's shoulder.

"Come to bed, you're tired", he whispered.

Germany felt anger rise in him. He turned around and glared at Poland. He got up and looked down at the Polish boy.

"I work day and night to provide for both of us", he hissed. "The least you could do is leave me alone, but no. You just have to bother me, don't you?"

"I care about you! It's not healthy to work non-stop for hours!"

"I never asked you to 'care about me'! Just leave me at peace!", Germany yelled. He was blinded by rage.

"You're so tired and stressed, you don't know what you're talking about" Poland tried to stay calm. He took Germany's hand. "Let's get you to bed."

Germany ripped his hand away from Poland's.

"I know damn well what I'm talking about!", Germany inhaled. "You know what? I regret getting with you! If you weren't here, I could do my work in peace! I wish you weren't here!"

Poland's jaw dropped. He felt his heart shatter.

"So you would choose your work over me?", he quietly asked.

"Yes! Now get out!"

Germany sat down in his chair. He growled when he realized he had lot his train of thought.

Poland stood behind him. He had to stop himself from crying. He wiped the tears that had appeared in his eyes. He started talking, his voice sounding cold.

"Well then. I hope your work makes you happy. I hope your work always has warm food ready for you when you come home. I hope your work comforts you at night when you have nightmares. I hope your work always stays by your side, no matter what. I hope your work loves you as much as I did."

Germany rolled his eyes and didn't reply. Poland left the room.

After that Germany worked for hours. His eyelids grew heavier and heavier until he fell asleep on his desk.

He woke up around 5 am, because some random bird was chirping right outside his window. Germany groaned and rubbed his tired eyes. He looked around trying to collect his thoughts. Why was he sleeping here? Poland would never let him sleep on his desk.
