Trivia: After Yukine's mother left, her father became a drunkard and very aggressive. He'd often beat Yukine and her younger brother, Keita. One night, she was visited by an Incubator, but it wasn't Kyubey. Instead, it was Juubey. While it was the same species of Kyubey, this particular incubator despises the likes of Kyubey and considers it to be their enemy. Yukine wished to become strong enough to defend against her father and protect her brother. Her wish was granted, and it allowed her to become strong and fearless. When her father attempted to hit her, she fought back, resulting to his death. After getting rid of the body, Yukine takes care of Keita by herself while fighting witches in secret. While she's no longer afraid of adults, she is still shy around people.
-Keita never asked what happened to their father, concerning Yukine. But she didn't pry.
