daniel opened the door to the apartment. his older brother followed him inside, looking around the space. "it's nice." christian hummed, striding over to the row of windows that overlooked the city. "how much was it?"

daniel shrugged to avoid the question, and placed his bags down. "corbyn's getting out of the hotel in like, 10 days. just needed help getting the beds together and then you can go on about your life. i guess." he muttered. christian sighed.

"enough with that please."

"with what?"

his brother crossed his arms. "you do know you could have left with me. or ty or anna."

"mhm."

"so why didn't you? you're acting like this is our fault."

"no. no," he sighed, leaning back on the counter. "i'm not blaming you. i just felt obligated to stay. with dad."

"dear old drunk dad." he rolled his eyes. "you should have left with us."

"should have, but i didn't."

christian hummed. he knew it was time to change the topic. "so tell me about corbyn and why he flew out here."

he saw daniel's body relax. the tension in his shoulders and face fell from the single thought of the boy. his smile was the one christian himself used whenever his girlfriend was mentioned or walked in the room. or simply breathed.

he was so in love with his online friend and it was obvious.

he never watched many of daniel's streams, he never had time thanks to his busy schedule (he was lucky to get a day off from work to help daniel move in) but whenever he did watch, him and corbyn would.. well christian thought they were dating at first. but then he realized they weren't and then he just realized that they were both extremely down bad.

"there wasn't any real planning to it. he just told me he bought a ticket and sent me too much money and now he's only twenty minutes away from right here." he extended his arms out.

"and how are you feeling about that?"

daniel bit the skin off his bottom lip. "you going all therapist on me?"

"that is my job, isn't it?" the two of them moved to one of the bedrooms were the large box that held the contents of the beds laid. "you like him don't you?"

daniel stared at the box. "he's my best friend, yes."

"daniel." christian scoffed. "you are not fooling anyone i hope you know that."

"says who?" he shot back, tearing open the box.

"literally everyone who has eyes." daniel gave his brother a look. "i catch streams sometimes." he muttered. "just saying, if you do not kiss that boy by the time he gets here, there will be so much awkward tension."

"yeah?" he laughed. "you know from experience?"

"i do." christian poured out the bolts and screws on the ground. "it was a fun experience in bed but more or less, it was extremely awkward."
