"jack don't be dumb. i cant go to new zealand during a pandemic."

"why are you being mean?"

"i'm not. it's just not logical."

"do you need a hug?"

"no."

"a hug from toot toot?"

corbyn rolled his eyes but nodded his head. he knew that a hug from toot toot the elephant, jack's favorite stuffed animal, would result with jack on his lap, hugging him tightly with the animal between them.

jack grinned. he grabbed toot toot from the side of his bed and climbed onto corbyn's lap, not hugging him yet. instead, he handed corbyn the elephant, forcing him to hug the stuffed animal first, but he stayed on his lap.

corbyn sighed, hugging the elephant tight.

"you of all people deserve to go to another country right now. we all know daniel's struggling even though he won't open up to us."

"what about you? i don't want to leave you alone—"

"i have zach." jack cut him off, a soft blush coating his cheeks. corbyn narrowed his eyes.

"you have zach." he repeated slowly. jack nodded his head.

"i have zach." he shrugged, playing with his hoodie strings. "i've had zach for um. uh, four months now?" he twisted his lips. "don't be mad?"

"i'm not mad, just more or less shocked. as long as you're happy, i'm happy jack. i could care less. really. i have no reason to be mad." he took his face in his hands. "i have a feeling you're the one in the need of a hug now."

"please."

corbyn pulled him closer to his body, his arms sliding around his waist. "you're shaking, jack." he muttered. "i don't.. i don't have to go. i can stay."

"no." he shook his head. "i'm fine, just nervous. i guess. daniel's going through some shit and he needs you."

"yeah but.." he sighed, pulling away from jack. "there's a whole ass pandemic going on and they're about to open up our state so if i leave i don't know when i'll be able to come back."

"the further you get the better honestly." jack bumped their heads together. "he needs someone, corbs. he has literally no one over there."

that was true.

daniel was painfully shy, never really putting himself out there (ironically since he is a growing streamer) which was totally okay, but it resulted in him being lonely. which he complains about. constantly.

"the sooner you leave the better, corbyn." he shuffled off of corbyn and laid beside him. corbyn slid on his back, keeping his eyes locked on his ceiling.

"i would be there for a while, jack." he looked at the boy next to him. "i don't know how long."

"i know."
