The sludge monster

Midoriya was walking home, today was another rough day at the hands of his best friend but izuku didn't mind though, it was his own fault for not hiding well enough. But today was different, he burnt his notebook. And to make matters worse he then threw it out for the fishes to eat. It somehow hurt more, that was his everything since his mother died. He almost fell in when he tried to get it.

He was walking under a bridge with his soggy, burnt notebook when suddenly he was attacked from behind by some sort of slime monster, he felt it squirming in his mouth, nose and ears. All he could do was freeze and try to think.

Oh no is this the end? It can't be the end, I still need to help so many people! Think, think! It's sludge so physical attack on it's body probably won't work, he must have some portion of his body that isn't gelatinous... where... I... need to... find... a way...

He was starting to get light headed. He was weak. He was worthless. He couldn't even save himself, yet alone others. He struggled and struggled, hearing the sludge monsters muffled voice

His mouth... that's solid.... maybe... eyes... too....

Izuku blacked out. He felt like his life was over. This isn't how he wanted to die, Weak and Pathetic. At the hands of a villain.

"Y....g ma."
"Yo..g man"
"Kid"

His eyes slowly opened, where was he? Who saved him... his question was answered when his vision cleared. It was all might.

Wait what?! All might saved him?! He didn't even know he was in the city!! All might! Japans number 1 hero!  Saved him! A weak quirkless kid! He couldn't believe it!

He jumped up, apologising constantly for about a minute or so then asking for an autograph only to find he already signed it. He was seriously freaking out.

"I better be off now kid"

He's leaving?! He really needs to ask him a question though!

"Wait!" Izuku shouted, latching onto his hero's leg as he took to the air.

"Let go!" His hero said, visibly panicked.

"I can't!" Izuku was practically screaming "if I let go now I'll die!!!"

The hero landed on a nearby building and Midoriya them proceeded to apologise as well as introduce himself

"I-I'm izuku Midoriya. I'm sorry all might but I really needed to ask you something" he stuttered, starting to wish that maybe he did die to the sludge villain.

"Go on then midoriya" it was clear he wasn't really paying attention to him as he had his own problem to focus on. He reached his limit, crap.

"I'm quirkless and i was wondering-" he looked up to see an unhealthily thin man instead of all might. "What- who- where did all might go?!"

The man sat down, clearly upset. " I'm all might. The reason I wanted to get away because I was reaching my time limit young man. Do not tell anyone about my real form, it would cause city wide chaos. It was bad enough with a few select people knowing but now a civilian does too. You no doubt want to post this online or something but think before you do so."

"I- how... all might, I would never! I- i" he replied sheepishly, sinking in on himself. "I just wanted to ask you a question...."

"Great! Kid, I'll make you a deal." Replied the number one hero "I'll answer your question as long as you never tell anyone about what just happened!"

Izuku stumbled to reply "I- I- I wasn't going to anyway..."

"Kid just ask me the question"

"Okay... well... I'm quirkless and-"

"Your quirless? Really?"

"Y-yeah a-and I was wondering if maybe, perhaps one day, I could become a- a.... a hero"

All might laughs loudly causing izuku to wince and shake as he tried not to cry.

"Without a quirk?" He laughed "no, i can't believe you actually believe someone quirkless could become a hero!"

I wish there was a 'like' feature for comments so I can show I acknowledge you all without having to show the socially awkward mess I am lol, I do love you all even tho I have no idea what you see in my writing)

That was like a blow to the stomach. He collapsed on the floor crying uncontrollably, his arms limp and unable to wipe the tears from his face.

"Look kid, it's a dangerous job being a hero. You just wouldn't make it without a quirk, you would just get yourself harmed or in the way. There are still other professions that help people. Try being a police officer or a doctor or something like that. My best advice it to give up on that dream and forget you ever had it"

The words were like daggers in his already weak heart. He couldn't breathe and he had to try one of his moms old breathing exercises she use to do. All might. All might, the number one hero. The hero who could save everybody, said that he wouldn't be good enough to achieve his dreams. Not without a quirk. Quirkless... stupid...useless... deku... all might just walked away.

He walked away from a crying child. He abandoned him too, just like dad. Just like mom... just like everybody once they learned he was quirkless.

He didn't remember getting up and walking. He was woke out of his trance when people suddenly ran into him. He looked up and saw flames... he wanted to help but he was hopeless. He just stood there. Watching. It wasn't until he heard a familiar voice yell "DIE!!!!". He didn't think, his legs flew into action and he ran.

It's the sludge villain that tried to kill me earlier! His body is gelatinous but his eyes and mouth aren't. I have a pen in my bag that I could use to poke him in the eye and grab ka-chan, then the rest of the hero's could then detain him.

Izuku was running at full speed towards them. The villain only had time to say "it's you again" before his eye was stabbed with a pen. Midoriya grabbed ka-chan and ran. The hero's quickly detained him while he was yelling in pain. One of the hero's told the two of them to stay on the scene until the police and ambulance were there as they needed to be checked over as well as having to write witness accounts. Once that was done izuku was scolded for running into danger while ka-chan was praised by the hero's and media for being so brave as well as for his awesome quirk.

He was walking home when ka-chan appeared, blasting him across the street. He was insulting him, telling him he didn't need a weaklings help and that he had it under control. Izuku was only half paying attention as his mind was thinking back to the roof. Ka-chan left, unfortunately not as quickly as he arrive, but he left eventually.
