brand new perspective

aizawa was waiting outside his apartment, he had been there for 10 minutes and was getting fed up.

what is taking this kid so long? has he forgotten he has an apprenticeship that isn't really optional. I swear if this kid has slept him he's going to be in for a whole new world of pain.

he started to make his way up the stairs when he saw some blood every few steps. he instantly knew something wasn't right and rushed up the rest. the blood was getting more constant the closer he got to izukus apartment. the trail lead right to his door, he had no time to think and he kicked in the door. he saw izuku lying on the floor unconscious. he called present mic telling him to drive here with recovery girl and any supplies she might need, he had to explain what injuries he had to her. when the called ended he called tsukauchi right away so he could get any evidence.

recovery girl and present mic eventually arrived, both of them disgusted in the place izuku has been forced to live for god knows how many years. tsukauchi had to document as well as photograph izukus injuries and investigate the entire house, he eventually opened a door that revealed a spotless room. it was feminine and everything had a heavy layer of dust on, it clearly hadn't been touched in a while. there was photos of a young Midoriya and presumably his mom all over the room.

they had to take izuku back to the school due to the extent of his wounds. he was put on a stretcher and loaded into the car, they had to put the front seat back and aizawa had to walk there as there wasn't any room. at first he was just walking but eventually he picked up the pace and ended up running a lot of the way there.

what keeps happening to him? is he not safe outside of the UA gates? he shouldn't even be living alone in the first place but he keeps getting hurt, what if something happened? we wouldn't know until morning and we may be too late to help him, his living conditions were bad enough but he goes home injured almost every night. his apartment is currently an active crime scene so its not like he can go home anytime soon. where will he go? I finally had time to read his file and his mom died years ago and his dad lives overseas, no other listed family members. he would be able to stay at UA while he recovers but what happens after that? will he have to stay a few nights sleeping on the streets? there is no way I can accept that. he could stay at my place but I have a drug bust in 3 days, its with all the others too so they can't take him. present mic and midnight are also a no, I know deku wouldn't be comfortable around midnight alone and mic will forget to watch his volume. I would let him stay at my place but I dont trust him unsupervised in my house. he could come with me to the drug bust but he would have to stay behind the scenes, that might actually be useful. if deku could do live, on sight analyses we could get information instantly as well as obtain information on villans that we haven't that we haven't yet identified. I just hope deku is okay. (dadzawa mode activated lol)

back at UA recovery girl had tried to help him as best as she could but he was too tired for most of his wounds to be healed. she was able to heal him just enough for him to be conscious again. a few minutes after he woke up aizawa ran in, he was sweaty and panting. izuku couldn't help but laugh.

"what are you laughing at kid? you could've died!"

"oh... sorry... its just how funny you looked when you ran in! I didn't know that eraserhead, the hero who couldn't be bothered with anything, would run all the way here just to see if I'm okay."

"im a hero, its my job to care."

"sure, keep telling yourself that."

"what is with this complete personality 180?"

"nearly dying has a way of putting things into perspective... and I guess I've started to trust you... just a little..."

"a poor choice really." recovery girl chimed in, hitting aizawa with her cane. "you left this boy knowing the mess he was living in. you should be ashamed to call yourself a hero."

"we had no jurisdiction, he didn't have any ties to UA other than he wanted to go here. if I reported while he wasn't an apprentice here the case would be given to some no good police officer who just wants to close the case as soon as possible, even if it means doing it half assed." aizawa got a little loud towards the end but deku just smugly smiled at him.

"you really do care about him."

"what is that supposed to mean recovery girl."

"it means she owes me £5" deku said, a huge grin on his face

"you bet on weather I cared or not?"

"no, we bet how long it would take for that to be visible. he said 5 minutes and I said an hour."

"you what?!"

"sorry aizawa, I can split it 50/50 with you if you want."

"no, its fine. its only £2.50"

"are my lessons with Nezu still on? I dont want to miss out on them!"

"you are injured and weak and you want to know weather you can still learn?"

"this is a huge opportunity! learning from Nezu himself is something I want to put on my resume."

"resume for what?"

"a job obviously, I need at least something on my resume. my grades aren't the best and I dont have many skills so it will be hard to find work."

"you have low grades? with a mind like yours? That doesn't seem right. ill have to look into that."

"you've completely given up on your 'I dont care about anything' façade" recovery girl laughed

"where will you be staying Midoriya? your house is an active crime scene and I'm pretty sure the police department will have to take most of your stuff that has blood on."

"Ill find somewhere..." he trailed away, he obviously didn't think about that earlier.

"if your all healed up by tomorrow you can stay at my place. but I have a drug bust on Thursday and you need combat training if your tagging along, even if your just watching from a distance and giving us information."

"is this the drug bust you were planning two months ago?"

"yeah, we finally received a warrant for anyone who's on the premises arrest."

"and you said I'd be giving you information? how?"

"you could be on a nearby rooftop or in the stakeout building but you will be observing and telling us what you can see. strengths, weaknesses etc. anything that will help us take them down as quickly as possible really."

"I already have some combat skills and I'm told I pick things up easily so I think that will be enough time. if I do nezus lesson today and try to sleep once its over I might be able to get enough rest to train a bit tomorrow while also learning from Nezu some more as it isn't my day off. then on my day off I could hang out with shinso for a hour or so and tell him that ill be busy a lot of the time. then I can get back and train some more, then if I train some more on Wednesday and continue taking lessons from Nezu that day which will hopefully account for my absence on Thursday. then ill stay up all night and sleep during the day because I assume the bust will be made in darkness..."

Midoriya continued muttering to himself and didn't notice aizawa leave. a little while later Nezu appeared.
