A/N: I'm not the best at fight scenes though so I'm looking for critique!

⚠️WARNING: cursing! (well- only once.) ⚠️

First POV:

I cursed beneath as a traveled through the trees, my assailant close behind. 'How did it end up like this?' I wondered, anxiety starting to spark in my heart like a match. I sped up my pace, jumping form branch to branch, but then I did something stupid.

I tripped.

"FUCK!" I cringed, a sharp pain traveling up my leg from my ankle. Wobbling back up, I face my assailant ready for a fight. I watched as they reached for something in their back pocket, a wary feeling crawling up my back. 'There's no telling what it is! I need to make the first move!' I leapt into action, tackling the masked enemy down.

"WHO ARE YOU? WHO SENT YOU?!" I yelled.

The assailant said nothing, they only replied with a kick to my stomach. 'Urk!..' I hissed, holding my side. I distanced myself, watching their next move. However, they didn't move. 'Fine, I'll just make the next move then.' Dagger hidden, I charged at them with the intent to stab their shoulder.

"Got you." I whispered, stabbing the poisoned tip into their flesh, blood oozing into their clothing.

We started trading hits, and with each moment passing, the assailant's movements slowed and got sluggish. I took the opportunity to pin them down, smirking from above them. I knocked them out and tied them to a tree, running my fingers through my hair.

Sounds of struggling awoke me from my nap.
"Don't even try, the poison in your blood won't clear for another day." I grumbled, staring at the assailant who was tied up and sweating bullets. I sat up right, pulling out the dried berries from my backpack.

"So, who sent you?" No answer.

I frowned, this was going to be a long day.
