"Supper!" My mother yelled from the other side of our small cottage. As I heard Atticus sprint out of his room I looked up from my muggle novel and started heading for the door.
It had been a boringly regular week in the muggle world ; Each day had a pretty similar routine. Get up, eat breakfast, go to school, come home, eat dinner, go to bed. Actually, every week for the past year has been like this.

I walk into the kitchen and the strong aroma of lasagna fills my nose as I make my way to my seat at the table. In the Silvercrown household, lasagna means one of two things: either Atticus or I have gotten an award or they have something serious to tell us. I personally hope it's the first one. Atticus is trying to reach up to the pot of lasagna above his head before mother lowers it with a quick swish of her wand. I laugh as I reach over with my spoon. "Hey! I'm first" Atticus yells and snatches the spoon off me.

By the time father comes to sit down half the food is gone and Atticus and I are stuffed. Mother is over by the sink, enchanting the wash cloth to clean the dishes looking at father every now and then as if she's trying to communicate with him. Something has to be up.
I look over to mother "what's with the lasagna?" I ask hesitantly. Without looking up she walks over to the now cleared table and stands behind my father. Her poker face has always been the best...
"Your mother and I have been thinking" my father starts. Atticus is paying attention now. "I have to go on a work trip and your mother doesn't believe she can look after you without me so, after consulting with Dumbledore he has granted permission for you two to attend Hogwarts in the new year" my father finishes without faulting his serious expression.

I grin from ear to ear and sprint out of the kitchen and go straight to fathers study. My eyes quickly scan the filled bookshelf before they land on the big, brown, leather book known as 'Hogwarts; A history'. I grab the heavy book and slam it onto the desk. I take a second to wipe the dust off the cover before I open to the front page. A detailed illustration of the school lays before my eyes and It isn't until then that I realise my dream is finally coming true. I'm going to Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

2 months later

Today is the day. The train station is buzzing with excited students waving goodbye to their parents as they get onto the Hogwarts express. My mind is all over the place and my stomach is full of butterflies as we wheeve our way around the emotional parents until we get to an open carriage. Mother looks over at me "Have you got everything?" she asks for the millionth time. I can see tears forming in the crevices of her eyes. I immediately pull her into a tight hug and assure her that I'm going to be okay. She smooths out my plain black robes and pushes the loose piece of my hair behind my ear. Atticus on the other hand, is already stepping onto the train. I shake my head and say my final goodbye to mother and walk over to the train.
I honestly don't think i'll miss home, I mean i'll miss mother but other then that I'm glad to be starting somewhere new.

As I stare down the carriage the nerves start to kick in. My hearts in my throat as I walk past the compartments overhearing friends telling each other about their winter break. I don't know anyone. How am I supposed to make friends? Im a 15 year old attending hogwarts for the first time, in the fifth year and I'm pretty sure every other student has established who is and who isn't their friends by now, so, what's the worst that could happen, Oh Merlin.

My mind continues to wonder as I make my way to the back of the carriage trying to find an empty compartment. I finally calm down as I spot an empty compartment right at the back. I'm not in the mood to try and make friends yet. I place my bag down and take out the same muggle novel I've been reading for weeks and begin to read. A couple minutes pass and suddenly the compartment door slides open aggressively. This startles me so I jump back a bit but I regain my composure before they see me.

"Get out" the deep voice of a very tall platinum blonde haired boy says without even acknowledging me. When I don't move he looks down at me. Who does he think he is? Barging in and demanding I leave. "Do I have to repeat myself?" he says intimidatingly. "If you please" I state cheekily as I stick my head back into my book. He snatches my book off me and holds it by two fingers as if it's dirty. "Romeo - and - Juliet" he reads but throws it to the ground. "Muggle books.." he says with a disgusted look on his face. I snarl at him as I pick up my book. He looks at me again. Blue eyes. There's something about him that seems off. He notices me staring and smirks. "Like what you see" he laughs. I look away as embarrassment fills my brain. "If you mean, I like staring at trolls then you're definitely wrong" I say smartly instantly regretting it as his fair skin goes red with fury. He storms over to me and picks me up easily and throws me out of the compartment followed by my bag.

My body feels numb as I thud to the ground. Realising what just happened, I promptly grab my stuff and stumble down the carriage. I need to find a place to sit.
