The swaying train makes me nauseous as I walk through the carriage looking for Atticus. I hope I never see that awful boy ever again, in fact I don't want to see anyone right now. I eventually decide to give up. Atticus is obviously not in this carriage and he's probably made friends with the whole school by now. He's always been the social one.

I make my way to the nearest compartment and shyly slide the door open. The three students in the compartment halt their conversation and look up at me. I clear my throat awkwardly "Mind if I sit?" I mutter. "Not at all" the girl says as she stands up. She has brown bushy hair that drapes over the sides of her face neatly and chestnut brown eyes. She sticks out her hand "I'm Hermione Granger" she says proudly. I accept her handshake "Alis, Alis Silvercrown" I say, gaining a bit of confidence. Suddenly one of the boys stands up. " I'm Ron Weasley" he says before tripping over his own trunk, and falls right on top of Hermione. I stumble backwards a couple of steps as they fall right at my feet. "RONALD!" she yells as she's being sandwiched underneath him. "Sorry Mione" he says with a groan.
My eyes widen as the last boy stands up. Merlin, It's Harry Potter. "You two are embarrassing, honestly" he says, not noticing my surprise. "Harry Potter" he says, reaching out to shake my hand. "Pleasure to meet you, i've read so much about you, in fact, Can I see your scar?" I say accidentally. They all chuckle a little. "Sorry, that was rude" I immediately say dying of embarrassment. "It's fine, everyone gives the same reaction when they first meet me" he says before lifting up the front of his hair to show me the scar. 'Amazing' I think to myself.

Hermione leads me to sit with them for the remainder of the trip to Hogwarts. We talk about loads of different things. They tell me how they're starting 5th year as well, and that they're all gryffindors. My mother was a gryffindor and I secretly hope I will be one too. I think I uphold the right traits to be a gryffindor but we'll just have to see, its the sorting hats decision after all. Ron tells me how he's one of seven kids and that they live in a small cottage that they call 'the burrow'. Hermione lives in the muggle world like me but both of her parents are muggles and they are dentists which made me laugh.

I've almost completely forgotten about what happened with that blonde boy earlier by the time we arrive at Hogwarts. I haven't laughed so hard in ages.

We grab our trunks and head for the carriage doors before the other students. I step out and my eyes are immediately drawn to the castle and my jaw drops. It's ten times bigger than I ever imagined it to be. It's breathtaking. I'm too busy gazing at Hogwarts to notice the others had walked over to a man. Most likely a teacher. I walk over to them and the man looks down at me. He's massive; could be a giant. "Oh 'ello, who do we 'ave 'ere?" he asks in a thick Gloucestershire accent. "Alis Silvercrown sir" I say as politely as I can. "Ahh ye' must be the new 5th year, I met ye' brother just a wee sec ago, I'm Hagrid" he says happily. I smile.

After telling him a bit about where I came from, I wave goodbye to my new friends and follow him to the castle.

When I step through the large door a rush of excitement flows through me as I watch students head to the great hall to begin the first year, and my, sorting as well as the opening feast. I already know my way around the castle after studying books and drawings before I came and I already know about the rules and customs.
Hagrid and I walk into the great hall before he suddenly stops. "Jus' walk up to ol' Mcgonagall up there" he says referring to a cat standing next to headmaster Dumbledore. Suddenly the cat transforms into a woman and walks over to Atticus who is with some other first years.

I thank Hagrid and start to walk between the gryffindor and hufflepuff tables heading towards Mcgonagall. I can feel the eyes of the students on me and snicker as I make my way through the great hall until I reach Atticus and Mcgonagall. "Hello Alis, I hope the trip here wasn't anything but pleasant," Professor Mcgonagall says kindly. I plant a grin on my face and greet her. "Dumbledore has requested we sort you two last, after all the first years" She says looking between Atticus and I. We oblige and join the other new students as dumbledore prepares the sorting ceremony.
