2014

"Happy birthday to youuuu!" everyone sings and clap as I blow out the candles on the biggest cake ive ever seen. I love the smell of burnt out candles. I look around at everyone. The atmosphere in here is unreal. My friends had decorated the whole pub with gorgeous rose gold decorations this morning. There was balloons and confetti everywhere. Everyone was here. All of my friends and family and Callum. Basically the whole town was here to celebrate my birthday. This had to be one of the best nights of my life, and it was only just starting.

"Are you sure you dont want a drink?" Evan asked jokingly.
"Yeah!" I say sarcastically "I don't drink, and you know that" I said smirking because i know he was messing with me. He shrugs and downs his fifth pint of Guinness. I guess we'll be bringing him home tonight.
The big 21 baloons swayed from the breeze of the door opening. I didnt take any notice of it because my mam decided to round everyone up for a group photo. There was way to many people to squish into this little pub but we made it work some how.
"Say twenty one!" My mam told the group as she put the timer on her camera and ran into the photo.
"Twenty one!!!" We chorused.
Everyone laughed and went back to where they were.

As the night went on the pub got really lively. Music and karaoke filled the room. Evan was out cold, my dad and Callum were up singing on front of everyone, and I think I was the only sober person left in the building. It was like something you'd see in a movie. Everyone was having the best time. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be the only one to remember it.
Sally and i were sitting at the bar. She was really emotional, she always gets like that after a few drinks.
"Im so glad we became close." She crys.
"I love you so much Brooke". She gags.
"Yeah Sally maybe we should bring you to the bathroom." I tell her so she doesn't get sick all over me. As Sally got up to go to the toilet i heard someone approaching me from behind.

"Happy birthday Brooksters" said a voice from behind me as someone put their hand on my sholder. I was startled and jumped because I wasn't expecting it. I recognised the voice, and only one person has ever called me 'brooksters'. It couldn't be them because I havent seen them since 4th year when they left school. As i turn around a wave of shock hits me. It was them.

"I figured ye'd be here" said the voice.
"What the fuck are you doing here" I reply still in shock. I normally never curse but I this really surprised me.
They look at me for a second in what seems like disbelief.
"Well me and the boys just finished a tour, so im home for a while. I knew it was your birthday so I asked around for where you might be. We've  came to this pub since we were kids remember. It's still the same as the last time i saw it, which was donkeys years ago." They blab on while looking around the pub. "Why? Are u not happy to see me?" they ask uncertain.
"Happy to see you? You broke up with me over a text message and i havent heard from you in three years! The only way I even recognise you now is because you're constantly on the telly! Now you've just randomly show up at my birthday party and pretend like nothing even happened? Why on earth would that make me happy to see you?!" I sort of shout
"Seriously?" Their facial expression changed very fast. "Well this is a lovely welcome home. I just came to say happy birthday to you and give you something, but i can see im not wanted here so ill go"
